Best hide because all those Prius in the driveway will send your BP through the roof.

Best hide because all those Prius in the driveway will send your BP through the roof.

Got one next door now, neighbor's boyfriend/husband/roommate or what ever had one when he moved in, one of the kids got old enough to drive and ended up with it.

Not worried about the BP, just ran to store, put stuff in the icebox, doing dishes and drinking coffee and so I checked, 121 over 60.   Low is more a worry, but been holding it up to the minimum.

Helped carry 2 of them folding tables from nieces Jeep, she was going to try by herself.  With in tolerance, just need to know when to quit.   Rita came out and said something about if I was OK, told her if I died she'd have to cancel till another time. ;D

Afternoon all.

Spent today driving to Idaho (twice) to pump rest areas along the highway. Would have been much easier if the scales weren’t open, but alas, the DOT was doing what they were paid for today.

Riley and I went out for a while to the porch, he's upset there is a bunch of junk in his yard and on the porch, he likes the people who tell him he's pretty and one took his picture.

They are all grumpy out there, been open 2 hours and have sold about $25 worth. ::)   What ever, I have to go get Lexie in a bit over an hour and then I am going to make some supper.

I am to call UNMC this week (Tuesday) and see about getting an appointment to see if I qualify for laparoscope to fix this glitch.   They call the scope something else but same idea.   Got to get her through the other knee first though. ::)

Evening all.

Biggest news out of Missoula is that the TK home has fallen victim to the Kung Flu. The better half got the swab today and came back positive. Makes sense, as she’s been sick since yesterday. I got the “Fauci Ouchie,” a while back and have not had any symptoms so far. Fingers crossed. I’ve been taking zinc and vitamin c heavily,  and staying well hydrated.

I went fishing today, as an escape from the confines of my riverside condominium. Caught a bunch of squawfish, which I had always assumed were just young Northern Pike, but are just a smaller cousin. I also caught one rainbow trout.

Smoky and in the 80s here today.   I have a late night job tonight in a couple hours out at the airport. Apparently the airport management is concerned that passengers may not like seeing us there cleaning out drainpipes, so we have to air until after the last flight. At 11.

g'morning  Gents,  coffee's fresh  & Corn Flakes  if you like , no blueberries though sorry .

Tropical Storm Mendy was felt  Wednesday afternoon as it popped up and blew ashore..
No damage here, just windy & heavy rain , surprised even the weather service how quick it formed.
More rain yesterday, and same expected for today.

I imagine there will be a great deal of memorial telecast's as we solemnly remember those that were lost  :(

Had some excitement this morning. I was about to get in the shower when my wife screamed for me to come to the kitchen. I thought she saw a mouse or something,But it was a strange male standing just inside the back door,I told him to leave and he started asking for "Reanna", I told him there was no one by that name and he started to argue with me,I told him he needed to leave NOW or things were going to get ugly. He turned and left, but went around to the front of my house,I called the police and told them wheat happened and they had a car there in about 5 minutes. I went out to talk to him and he pointed to the guy who was now at my neighbors front porch and asked if that was him. I told him yes and he went and detained him to find out what was going on. It turns out that he lives behind me on the next street with his mother and has a history of going off his meds. He was taken to the local hospital for a 72 hour psychiatric hold. He was lucky he didn't get shot. The worse thing about this is I missed going to a shoot that I really wanted to go to today.

55 and sprinkling in Missoula.

I have contracted covid, which wasn’t entirely unexpected, but still rather annoying. So far it is limited to sniffles and a headache, basically just a moderate cold. The shot seemed to work pretty well, considering how mild my symptoms are and how long/heavily I was exposed before contracting it.

I was skeptical at first, based mostly on how hush-hush they kept the initial trials and for how long. I got it when I did because Uncle Sam told me to. But now I am rather pleased with the results. The mRNA therapy concept (eg Pfizer, Moderna) has been studied and researched for longer than I’ve been alive, so I suppose they do know quite a bit about it.

Weather here is 40 and sprinkles. I have a small job to do at work (doesn’t involve talking to customers), then I have to get a brand new set of tires for the Jeep, since the one tire I need for it isn’t available until mid October, and I need the Jeep before then.

Me too except I didn't want to die, I was asking how soon before it became a political football.  Still haven't had the Federales show up the door to check and when asked if they believe me, do have a copy on my phone but never used it.   Actually my copy of it is in my nightstand drawer under my pistol, just figured it was where I would know where it is.

I made no secret I've had both Pfizer shots in February 2021 , I've never been asked or required to show the card.
I don't carry it , The wife has it in the fire box (with hers) .
I don't have any desire to go where proof is required , if my saying so is not good enough.

It does speak volumes for an Anti Vax'er  to forge a card or lie to gain admission.  ::)

I keep mine in my wallet, between my FAA and DOT medical certificates. The only time I’ve been asked about it was at a Dr. office, not because of masks, but because they were gathering data on reactions. I expressed my displeasure at my lack of a third arm from it, but they thought it was less funny than I did.

I dodged it, been sicker than a dog for a week, was afraid it was, went and got tested Tuesday, I'm negative.  Wasn't going to test but got to feeling well enough for this.

Plan is Matt is picking me up Sat morning, I'm taking just some supplies and blankets, Norton has tent and cot, if Matt says I need to go home he will load me up and take me home because he says I don't have enough sense to stop.

Day one of NY State SASS Championship, Heluva Rukus,Clean on 1st stage, 2nd stage Start with rifle, fired 2 shots and the rifle locked up. Declared malfunction finished stage with 8 misses. Looking over the rifle (Winchester 66 copy) I found the little tab on the ladle broke. That shouldn't hsv happened,I replaced it with a V.T.I. "Improved ladle" That was supposed to be a fix for that problem.A friend loanded me his back up rifle andI finished the next 4 stages clean. More to come tomorrow.

I'm back from our SASS State championship, I had 1 miss and a trainwreck on another stage. I ejected a live round and when I went to reload to make up the shot, I couldn't get the round in the loading gate. The spring that holds the lever up when closed was weak and allowed the lever to drop, blocking the loading gate, I had to fiddle around to finally get it in  and fire the round. I ended up with a 52 + second stage. I ended up coming in 7th in category and 116th overall out of 200.

Good morning, thanks for the coffee .....

would anyone venture an opinion as to what I have here ?

I was just given this Night Scope, I believe it is Viet Nam era , but scopes are out of my wheel house.

Has the case, with a tag (3rd photo ) that it stored in and a mount , I was told for an M16 ?
It seems in good cond. Optic's are clear and no fogging .
Looks like it would take a single D cell battery ? ( its clean with no corrosion )
There is a tag with rebuild code @ S.A.A.D indicated 8547 ,  ( second photo )

It will go in the Museum War Room display

So far I have researched

(SAAD)  Sacramento Army Depot

6 pound passive starlight PVS 2s were considered state of the art when it came to the capabilities of U.S. troops fighting at night. The scope first entered service at the height of the Vietnam War 67-69 and despite its cumbersome size and ridiculous weight, it did prove its use among Soldiers and Marines in their patrol bases. It was probably too heavy to carry out on many patrols, but as a rifle equipped with one on a post at night where mobility wasn’t an issue, it could be a force multiplier, especially when the Viet Cong wanted to strike or probe the lines at night.

Original batteries are unobtainable, however a conversion block for 4  AA batteries is made.

Major 2 we called them a “star light scope” that one was mounted on a M16 - the down fault was its weight. Secondly you don’t want to be looking through it when you are firing. It would be like Arc Welding with out a good.

I have used one for perimeter watch.

That is one of those foods I have never tried,

I have a list  ::)  I won't eat,  but the list has been somewhat reduced & crossed off as I got older.

example - Orca...you could not force me to eat that *H*T  ( except I did finally try it fried this year in fact , did not hate it )
Pigs feet.... NOPE !

Rhubarb  = nope
Mincemeat pie ... eh no....

but .... Broccoli, asparagus, Brussel sprouts,  were once on the list, and now not !

So there is a chance (though very very small ) I might try rotten cabbage kim chee  ....eh maybe not !

I knew a very nice Malayan lady that made her own Kim Chee that was just spicy hot enough to be very good. She also pickled her own thin sliced Ginger root, which was excellent! The ginger can also be somewhat spicy hot too all by its self.
My best,

My sister loves it. She talked me into trying some in San Antonio. I was not a fan, but with enough other food around it I managed to choke it all down.

Morning all.

Have a long one ahead of me today. The scheduling lady still hasn’t figured out that I can’t cross the river without a bridge, so schedules me for jobs on either side thinking it’s a quick trip. The problem is, for these two jobs today, ithe nearest bridge is 12 miles away, and will take me over an hour to get to. At least I get overtime.

Oddly enough, the kids when growing up were easy converts to asparagus because they heard, through the playground grapevine, that it would make their pee smell funny.
Seems any effort spent on convincing them it would broaden their dining experience wouldn't have worked.
