1881-85 holster pattern
« on: September 08, 2022, 04:53:33 PM »
I have searched and could not find any references for a pattern for this type of holster.. I remember seeing one years ago.  Any help?  AKA as a civil war period holster.

The 1881-1885 was post Civil War.  Are you wanting the Civil War full flap type, or the later half flap type?

It would be the half flap.  The Span Am period.

Here is a half flap that I do.

It would be the half flap.  The Span Am period.

You mean the military pattern?

Craig.C  That's the one! The military version. The belt loop would have to accommodate a loaded Mills belt.

I don't know where to find a pattern. Might find a cheap repro to deconstruct or resort to drawing up your own. The one I make is more of a civilian pattern like Rube's.

Packing Iron has this on page 27. It would be helpful if you want to make your own pattern.
