HRA 1860 .44-40 rides again.

Went to an annual match (High Sierra Shootout at Railroad Flat, CA) and took the HRA Henry and my new Marlin 1894 Century Limited .44-40 to use as main match rifles.  The first day (six stages) used my pair of 1872 Open Tops, the 1860, and Lefever double.  The second day I used the 1894 Century, my new Colt 1873 SAA and one 1872 Open Top, and my Wild Bunch 1897.

Never missed a shot with the 1860, even with the small, decreasing sized, knock down tombstones at 15 yards. (I also never missed a shot on the second day using the 1894!). As much as I really love the new Century Limited (slick and accurate), the Henry still rings my chimes.  I love them both....  The wood is actually prettier on the 1860 than the Century's, but the hand engraving and Doug Turnbull real bone process color case hardening on the Century is to die for!
