I've got a plan for a .22LR version if someone would donate a Ruger 10/22 action.  It would work great on the quarter scale Blunt targets we have.

If the Gatling is coming I will bring the Mountain Howitzer.
Books
So does this mean you are definitely coming? That's Awesome!

I have confirmed that unless something completely unforeseen happens, the Gatling will be at the 2018 Grand Muster and will be a guest gun on the San Juan Hill stage. This means each participant will put one full magazine through the Gatling, mowing down as many of the stage targets as possible with it.

If you needed added incentives to make the trip to central Nebraska, I would think this would be it.

How do you propose getting that arm under the barrel to attach and operate?  It just wouldn't be a Potato Digger with out the arm, that gave the gun it's nickname slapping back and forth out there.

You can't have my 10-22, it looks like a Thompson now.  http://www.1022fungun.com/store/

I know that was a pretty iconic feature, but we'll just have to live without that, I'm afraid.

Reckon I should get me some reservations somewhere!!  Did not get in touch with Col Strong this weekend as too much stuff piling up and Honey wanting my company.  So will set a date to meet with him and work out arrangements to get "IT" on the wagon.  Oh yes will mail off registration tomorrow if I don't forget again!!

Hi, somehow I think all of us would like to get this part filmed.  Watching an old man with a gut waddling through tall grass with a Sharps ain't that picturesque, but a Gatling...

Just made my reservations in Burwell and barring any unforeseen instances, "The Gun" should make the trip with me for this muster.  I will get together with Doug in the near future and set up a date to pick it up.  As Amy is home, for now, I'll wait a couple of weeks before bothering him.

For the gee whiz file, little sporting shop in Beloit has been stocking factory 30/40.  I reduced their inventory down to 3 boxes!!

Happy New Year!!

I had a nice conversation with Emily at the Comstock Lodge this afternoon and made a reservation for Friday and Saturday night during the Muster. My "better half" is coming for the main match and Banquet and I didn't think she would like to bunk with Quickfire and I in his tent. As of today Emily said she has a couple of rooms left, one being the room with four single beds that a bunch of guys could get together and share.
It is far better to remain silent, and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!

I spoke with Emily yesterday and with Ira Scott's registration at the Comstock, there are only 2 rooms left. If you need one I recommend you call soon. One of the available rooms is the bunk room.

IDK, I don't think Lucas will fit and unless my son brings my grandson, your son will be the youngest one here.

John Irons and I will be in the cabin on the hill.
We probably won't shoot the match, just enjoy the camp, do some plinking.

We are going to be Sutlers of sorts, bringing two decades worth of primitive camping stuff to sell. (We've decided our primitive camping days are behind us.)

Some wonderful things for sale:

10’ X 10’ Pyramid Tent; two opposing flap openings, sewn-in ground cloth, entrance fly w/ poles and stakes, Unused still in original shipping box. (Panther Primitives)

Folding wood cot.
Air mattress w/ period correct wool cover.
Quilted spread w/ matching pillowcase.
Indian Wars custom run field gray with blue stripes wool blanket.

Antique Hot Draft lantern.
Lantern crook.

Various folding small camp tables, chairs, etc.
Dove-tailed Camp box with fitted styrofoam cooler insert.

Set small cooking irons, uprights, crossbar, poker/lid lifter, “S” hooks, in ticking pouch.
Folding camp grill.

Tin bulk kerosene can.

Odds ’n’ ends period look containers for food or alcohol.

Grey spatterware wash tup w/ wisk scrubber.
Tin mucket.
Cooking utensils.

Cast iron can opener.
Cast iron fry pans.
Cast iron dutch oven.

Large white enameled camp coffee pot.

Bits ’n’ pieces of camp items,- knives, cloth bags, bedside candlestick w/ hand-dipped candles.

Also:
British 9-pouch bandolier. (WPG)
Custom made shooting sticks.
British 1903 Pattern Pistol belt, flap holster and belt cartridge pouch. (WPG)
French 1916 pattern bayonet frog.
British leather covered glass bottle canteen.
Union wool Sack coat, sky blue trousers, Forage kepi, belt w/ “US” plate. Trousers not hemmed.
Black leather saddlebags.

And again, various flotsam ’n’ jetsam.

I just had to look it up...
https://oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/flotsam-jetsam.html
"Flotsam and jetsam are terms that describe two types of marine debris associated with vessels. Flotsam is defined as debris in the water that was not deliberately thrown overboard, often as a result from a shipwreck or accident. Jetsam describes debris that was deliberately thrown overboard by a crew of a ship in distress, most often to lighten the ship's load. The word flotsam derives from the French word floter, to float. Jetsam is a shortened word for jettison."

Well, that's the traditional meaning but Flotsam and Jetsam are also the nick names given to two surfer cop characters in Joseph Wambaugh's latest Hollywood Station series of cop novels (if you've never read any of this guys stuff he's great, although you may need to understand cop personalities to really get a belly laugh out of it):

http://www.josephwambaugh.net/

Two ell's in The little Mermaid:

http://little-mermaid.wikia.com/wiki/Flotsam_and_Jetsam

And it looks like it may be a heavy metal band as well:
