Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee, Buck.

'Tis 40 and overcast raining. "Cloudy. Showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the middle 50s. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent." Might get some sun on Sunday.

That does not sound good for the weekend. We could use some of that rain here, we are under a drought.

Range surface is gravel. Drains real good.

If ya leave now, M2, should get here easy for the shooters' meetin'. Straight shot north on 95. Mebbe twenty miles from the Petersberg exit, east towards Norfolk on 460. Only three stop lights. Left onta the dirt raod, thru the gates it the Sussex Shootin' Sports sign.

I'm easy ta find, be wearin' a cowboy hat. Pay no mind ta QS at the registration table. She's snooty ta everybody.

ROGER, I hope that it is ready. I know that you are anxious to shoot it. Keep me in mind, if you ever decide to sell it.

Major 2,

Looking like Sunday the 11th. will be a better date for me to catch up with you.
I'll bring the MH grips with me so you can look them over. Along with the .44 Russian BP ammo with me. Perhaps, your smith will have the MH ready by then. But, Just in case I'll have the repro S&W Russian with me so you can give it a try as well.
My best,
Blair

Well the Smith fitted the shortened K frame spring.... it is a bit straighter than the M&H OEM and there is a bit of interference with tail on the Hammer also the spring is very light , we are going to try a shortened Winchester 94  Main Spring it has bit more curve near the claw.

The 94 Spring will be stouter, to solve the very light hammer.

Thanks Blair, there is about 2" of standing water out there and its still raining...we canceled and will try on the 11th.

Major 2,

Just a thought/suggestion...
Check the mainspring length on some of the other, repro Winchester/Henry like firearms you may have on hand.

I have found, in some of my past gun work, on a few occasions, the claw on the end of the spring maybe modified to fit under the stirrup/hammer thro. (the claw or fingers on the mainspring, maybe quite small and still make a good connection)

Up for plumbing check, all is well  :)
a bit despondent though, was posta hold our NCOWS shoot , but the weather (RAIN)  ::) foiled us.... the SASS boys up at St. Augustine
canceled their match also...
I suppose discretion was the better part for them as well  :(
Now, I have 1/2 the day unplanned...  :-\

It's bit early , but I'll put a pot on for the other early risers, anyone else up ?

Major 2,

There is a Gun Show here at the Melbourne Auditorium. Doors open at 9 AM

We got very little of that rain here last night. Must have gone to the north of us.

Morning y'all.
Thanks fer the coffee, Major 2.

A Merwin with a skull crusher. What can be better?  :D

Had my first experience with Windows 8.1 last night. Don't like it. It might be fine with a touch screen but with a mouse not too much fun. Installed Classic Shell which brings back the Windows 7 Start button. It makes it tolerable. This is a customers PC.

Slim,

Windows 8 or 8.1 take some getting used to, especially with a mouse interface. There are still keyboard shortcuts and you can create icons for things like shutting down or accessing Document folders. I do like the quick startup nd I guess I should have gotten used to it.
