Morning folks, made it to Atlantic City last night after deciding to buy a new Hyundai! Since it was under warranty they gave us a fair deal so now my Missus has a decked out Tucson. This will be our 7th Hyundai and it is the first time one has ever failed us. Anyway 75 here and raining, gonna finish my coffee then we will get with our family.

Congrats and glad you had a safe trip.  :)

Just tinkering in the war room, later today I need to run a vacuum in there.
but for now, some sort of noon repass and maybe a bit of Motor Trend channel

Afternoon all.

105 and sunny here in the Northern part of the Golden state.

Been busy with fires the past couple weeks. There was one last night less than a mile from my parent’s place, started by a local crackhead. We caught it at about 6 acres, in 3 hours. I somehow ended up digging 100 yards of fireline by myself, but it was fun.

We manged to break the 100 mark yesterday with 105, and kept it up today at 103.  Supposed to cool off to the upper 90s tomorrow.
So far haven't had the air conditioner kick in.  With the overnight lows in the low 60s I open the windows after the OAT drops below 90 and soak up all the free cool air.  Then I wait until the next day and the OAT pushes 90 and seal back up.  Save on my electric bill and stress on the grid.

Russ, my 1969 was British Racing Green w/ black leather (69 was the last year for leather upholstery)
It came with wire wheels, but I swapped them out for Minilites.
Factory headers, and 45 DCOE Webber Carburetor. The head was ported & polished and shaved 60 thousands.
It raised compression 9.5 to 1, course all the smog pump crap was discarded.
Lowered and a larger front sway bar and added a rear sway bar, and competition valve shocks.
Tires ware Michlin ZX Radials, and of course a roll over bar was installed.

In 1995, I was given a non-running 1974 MGB by a friend, this one got a small block V8.
The work was done as High School auto shop project.

Major,
Love the Oddball pic!   One of my favorite movies.    It was one on regular rotation at my place in college.

When I was a group leader, someone in the group was called Moriarty, so I could use the Knock it off with those negative waves Moriarty.   Funny thing was when a new guy came in, he was the first one to get the reference.

Extra goodie in the back, extra goodies underneath including disc brakes.  Would almost do 90 in 3rd.

I never owned a V-dub but had a girlfriend with Karman Ghia, I drove.

I'm assigned to my own devices for the next few days, Jody's off to J'ville with her sister till the weekend.
Then on Sunday, SHE's pet sitting for our daughter while she attends a wedding somewhere in Miami.
So, I guess I'm batch 'n' it grocery wise.

Tempted to go see "Oppenheimer" but I haven't gone to see a film in 5 years, the last time was,
 Rambo: Last Blood.

Course there is "Barbie"  ::)  NOT !

I had a '66 bug when I was stationed in Germany. I had three different engines in it while I had it, the second one was definitely not stock. I don't know what all had been done to it, but it was pretty fast. It would easily bury the stock speedometer, I swapped it out with one I found in a junkyard, either came from some kind of Porsche or maybe a Kharman Ghia. I think I had it up near 160KM HR a few times, but eventually blew that engine, replaced it with a 1200-figured that motor wouldn't go fast enough to tear itself apart.

I'm here, a lot is going on but it's still going OK.

Was ready to abuse a couple Drs Friday but just some slight misunderstanding.  It is all OK for now.

Made biscuits and sausage gravy this morning. There is enough left over for tomorrow.

Local weather radar widget is down, I don't suspect there is much change though...
hot, humid and thunderstorms, reset and repeat. My thermometer on the porch says 80 right now!

The sausage I purchased is very tasty but low on fat content apparently.
There was none to speak of to mix into the Rue.
So, I just add the flour & milk to the pot of crumbles and added salt & pepper.... turned out just fine.

Currently 95° but feels way hotter and no rain in sight as yet....
