Refinished stock - 45-60 Carbine
« on: February 01, 2021, 02:18:04 PM »
Refinished the stock on my new 1876 45-60 Carbine.

Took off the finish with Citri-strip.

Scrubbed it with mineral spirits.

Soaked it in multiple coats of break cleaner to dry it out.

Dyed it with Laurel Mountain Forge MAPLE and LANCASTER MAPLE dye

Finished with about 8 coats of Laurel Mountain sealer

Doesn’t look too bad.  Shown with a cartridge belt and holster I made specifically to go with the rifle.
