Evening all.

Been busy the past few weeks. Been to Montana and back, and a bunch of fires.

I just got back from Fortuna, CA where we took care of a fire for them, then turned around and came home. An easy 2 days of per diem and overtime  ::)

Y’all keep on the right side of the dirt.

Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

Third morning in a row without dew.

'Tis 66 and overcast. "Humid. Mostly cloudy. Patchy fog in the morning. Highs in the middle 80s. Light and variable wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon."

Here we go again, actually it is expected this time every year.
Idalia expected to be a major hurricane at landfall in Florida early Wed. morning.
John Saffran is closer to the cone of projection and will be in the warning area.
So far, my area is outside the models (save one which just brushes by)
We will get RAIN a plenty, and gusts.

Finger crossed for John  :)

Many thanks for your concern, Major. At this point, it appears that we will be on the fringe of the action. My son is a pilot for a local company, and he thinks we will be okay. Nevertheless, we are still taking precautions and stocking up on supplies.

When we lived in Wisconsin, we had the opposite in weather to worry about

4am plumbing check and weather look see....

Rain is moderate and has been some hours now, winds about 15-18 mph.
The storm is now approaching Cat 4, but 200 miles west of my location.

We are ten miles from the waters of Tampa Bay. All we have experienced so far is rain and moderate winds. A person I know who lives close to the water said it's not a matter of when the flooding hits but how much. My son who lives in St. Petersburg said they got lots of rain and 40 mph winds. Their streets are flooded. All of the bridges in the area are closed. Looks like we dodged another bullet   8" Howitzer round. The communities north of us will not be so lucky. My prayers go out to them.

Still raining and we just had a session of big old fat heavy rain.
So far, we are at 2.9 inches, they reported winds were about 17-20 mph.
Radar looks to have dry swath shorty then another feeder squall.
And this things center was 200 miles west of us!

Sad events for the folks on the northwest coast big bend area, looks like landfall was Cat 3.

Glad it messed you two.

Air quality is still bad here, pine smoke.  Supposed to hang around till late Friday.   Will likely nap a lot, O2 was 93, not real bad but that low makes me sluggish.  Rita has a Heat up pizza she just came home with for supper.

Made this last night late, not as impressive as it looks, quick biscuit dough over a package of give it to the poor beef stew that comes like an MRE.  She's been liking them, may have to buy some because it takes 5 minutes to mix and she likes it and needs to eat.  8 inch oven, perfect size for us.

Still raining off and on, but it is the tropical train that is dragged up behind the main circulation.
Radar shows it continuing raining late this afternoon.
The storm itself is up near the outer banks of N. Carolina and will head out to sea.
Best wishes to Baltimore Ed.  :)
Some concern it might loop back toward Florida  ::)

Rain amounts to 3.5 inches in my area winds now about 5 MPH.

For you folks in storm paths, using gensets: make sure they start, and get reserves of fuel NOW.
If you havent run one before check with the manufacturor on how long YOUR generator will run on a tank of gas or tank of propane.

After the power is out is a bad time to learn you are gonna run short.

We are just now putting in a standby 10kw genset, need that much to run the freezers AND aircon AND well pumps …

Doing a home depot dual fuel special ( i had a coupon) and doing our own wiring for a mad scientist switch box.
