Did a caveman chamber check on the old beast, using a pair of previously shot hulls with the star crimps fully extended out. They went fully into chambers with no resistance at all. Took to range today and shot 4 stages of sporting clays using 1 oz 8 shot rem and 7/8 oz Fiocchi target loads. Old gun seems to work just fine. Given I have a M47xxx serial number think it is rather late production gun. Cleaning the damn thing must have helped as I had no clue what it was when I first got it and it is clearly marked 225 on bottom of receiver. 70 to 80 years neglect takes a while to overcome. Clearly not an AZ gun with all the old surface rust.
