I have never liked pain perdu till I tried it with homemade sourdough French type bread.   May try it with some other good breads sometime. 

Mogorilla:
We have made it with panetone for the last 10 years.  So maybe it is Italian Bread at that point.  It has made an appearences for breakfast on Christmas and we keep several in the freezer for throughout the year.   Yum

Pitspiter went to the house a weighed himself while he was there on the last day of the muster then came up and yelled at me, seems he figured with all the work he'd lose weight, is it my fault he decided to eat the extra meatloaf on Sat instead of finding a bag and putting it in the cooler while I went to town for supplies. ;D
