Actually, 43 years of practice.  It's funny how repetition can make the work either fun or boring.   Amazing after all these years,  my time in the shop is seldom boring.
I can see that. There are a couple things I've done that I feel that way about. Fortunately, leather working is one of them although I don't have as much steady experience as you.

I guess I probably have  a  leg up on most  holster makers,  simply because  I  have  collected sooo much vintage  cowboy  gear.    I  started  collecting when  I  was  about  14 years  old.  At that  time  ( early  6o's ) nobody wanted  this  old stuff,  except me.   I absolutley  loved it.   Even  then,  I could  recognize the quality of  saddle  shop made  items from the  post  civil war  era, to the 1910 period.  Hand made items especially intrigued me.  I've worked a lot of jobs in my 72 years,  but none have been more worthwhile than working with and making a living in working leather.   In 43 years, I've become pretty good at it.

Looking back there is so much of that kind of thing I wish I had taken more interest in collecting or at least getting a hold of. I didn't take a real interest in the old stuff until I was getting older myself. lol
