« on: September 14, 2023, 07:24:10 AM »
Just finished this one for a retired Navy CPO.  .45 Ruger Blackhawk.  25 loops (his request for 1 45/70).

Lined belt, machine sewn (cowboy 4500).

I'm not a Navy guy, but I think that's a good-looking rig.

Nice job!

Howdy PA,

That's a really nice looking rig, but that's not a Navy revolver.

Nice job on this rig. It sounds very appropriate. He should be very happy with it.

And thanks for your service. And his.

Beautiful rig! You did an awesome job on the Navy logo. He should be one very happy SeaBee.

Hi,
Looks great.  How do you line up the barbed wire?  Do you draw a centerline with dividers?
Thanks

1961MJS:
Barbed Wire? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Yes, I ran a light line by holding my dividers low to the leather, almost parallel… scribe a very light line.  Then I punch, then TRY to align the next stamp, again, TRY to align the next and TRY to remember if I put one to two wires between the barbs before I strike the hammer.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Would be great if they made one with a barb and 2 wires premade.

Thanks, That's what I THOUGHT you did, but I'm not gifted with artistic ability.  Another trick I found was to buy the very sort art pencils and draw lines, again holding the pencil at a low angle.  The softer pencils don't leave a gouge and can be erased easily. The point of the pencil doesn't make a channel in the leather, but the side of it just leaves color.

Barbed Wire  ???  ::) Lord knows I've stepped across enough of it, but I'm never used it in a sentence before.
