Uberti Schofield trigger pull
« on: May 07, 2019, 10:15:31 AM »
Hello to all,
I've just purchased a second hand Uberti Schofield second model in 44/40 and 7" barrel, very nice.... :D
The trouble is the trigger pull.
I noted that there are a few topics here regarding the same trouble.
I started to work on that trigger spring and, as many, I went too far and now, the cylinder stop doesn?t want to go down in half cock anymore :o
Now I've understood the trigger spring main function is to activate the cylinder lock and the side effect is the heavy trigger pull.
Is there any mean to have the cylinder lock working without having to pull 4 pounds on the trigger to make the revolver fire...? ???
Many thanks for your help. Two spare springs are on their way from Italy.
Cheers.

Hello,
After having carefully reduced the new spring widths sent to me free of charge by Uberti, the trigger pull is now below 3 pounds and the cylinder lock works correctly. Problem solved.
Cheers.
Jacques
