Just received my new "TEXAS" Hunting Bag from T.C. Albert today! If any of you are familiar with MUZZLELOADER magazine, you know who T.C. is, as he writes the "Doin' It Yourself" article in each issue. Tim did a fantastic job of making the bag just the way I wanted it for an 1840's-50's bag. I supplied the knife (a modified Lamson & Goodnow kitchen knife). It's pictured with my 1840's Sheffield Bowie.

I like it! I need to make one of those.

That bag is a Jim Dandy and made by a guy who knows. Nice kit.

Every time I look at this, I am so impressed with the outstanding workmanship that has gone into it.

It is a great bag and horn, Dave! Tim made it exactly how I envisioned it! The spout plug on the horn has "TEXAS" on one side and "1836" on the other.

It sure is nice. Which rifle o' yourn does it feed?

Dave, it's going to be feeding a half-stock .50 cal. percussion plains rifle. I'm still deciding on which one I am going to put together!

Sounds like a winning combination pard. I look forward to seeing it. Do you have any shooting/trail gear in the bag? Always enjoy seeing the little details.

Will try to get a photo, Dave. Have a capper, percussion caps, a nipple wrench and a folding knife in there right now.

I really like your new pouch

Jake:
That is a very nice bag. Did you every look at the rifle in the Texas Ranger Museum purported to be owned by Jim Bowie?
-
Yes, I have. Probably will never know if it was actually his, or not.
