Cavalry boots for what era? For CW thru mid 1870's suggest Robert Land. Do a google search, his boot for that era is unsurpassed. I got mine in about 8 weeks. He often has them in stock. All handmade, pegged - dead on for original. Very fair price.

I have a pair of the M-1872 shoe and a pair of M-1876 boots from Missouri Boot and Shoe. I love them! The only thing that isn't period correct is that they are comfortable...VERY COMFORTABLE! I've had the shoes somewhere around 15 years they wear like iron. At one point I was drilling and marching in them every weekend. I've had them half soled once. They aren't cheap but you get what you pay for.

I would second Pitspitr.
I bought a pair of CW era cavalry boots from Missouri Boot and Shoe Company.
Good price, best quality, custom made for my feet and I would doubt that you will find a more comfortable boot!
If you compare the price to custom made cowboy boots they're cheap. Good custom made cowboy boots can cost two or three times as much and aren't nearly as comfy.

DON"T Order Here,....I custom ordered a set of boots from this guy gave him all the measurements he ask for and a full year later they were still wrong and had to go back twice,.....from the looks of things he sent me a couple other sets of boots hopeing they would work.....He blamed the problems on his Mexican help converting my inches to their centimeters to make the boots.
