Not all spaghetti westerns were bad.. One of those westerns I would watch, even when I was rebelling and didn't want to be country..  ;D :o

Yup, I'm a watchin it :)   Robert Culp's brace of Smiths caught my eye. It appeared at times he was shooting them double action so I'm not certain which modelss they were and now he's dead so I won't know until next time.  I might have to buy it  ;)

Raquel stated during an interview that since she is a mother she chose not to leave a legacy of nudity and bad taste for her children.  I respect that and think it would be the same today if she palyed the part.

Yeah.. but they would get somebody else to do it.

I think the moviemakers miss the intangibles of implied events.. much more gripping than showing every little thing.
Adios,

She's on again a couple of times tonight with "Will Penny" in between.
AMC, almost as good as The History Channel.

I'm watching Hannie Caulder right now.. :o

I had to answer the phone and I missed the part about wetting the pants. When I got back to the TV she was sitting in the tub with nothing but the bottoms on! Was she trying to strech a pair of leather pants?

Wow. I was getting ready for work while the TV was on only saw the two or three minutes that you missed.
Robert Culp gives her money to buy some pants and then she is shown walking out of the store holding them up. The storekeeper tells her to take a bath with them on and to keep them on until they are dry to get them to fit.
She stands up in the tub to check if they have shrunk enough then sits back down.

Thanks Dave, I got back just as she was sitting down in the tub and wasn't sure if she had "turned around" or not... ;D

I watched part of it again last night getting ready to watch "Will Penny" (which is a great movie).

I tuned into late to see if Robert Culps Smiths were the double actions but I am nearly positive that they were.

I'm watching it again right now. It's hard to tell if those Smiths are double action or not, as you see his first shots alot but no quick second shots in the same scene. Although I haven't seen him thumb cock his pistols either. He certainly gives the impression that they are DA.
When he and Hannie (hubba, hubba) first ride up to Christopher Lee's place, Lee asks Thomas if he "finally split the barrel on that old Adams?".
Does an Adams resemble a Smith? Maybe the writers didn't want to say "Smith" because average viewers would conjure up images of Dirty Harry.

???  Hmmmmm, I thought Thomas was wearing a Schofield in his crossdraw.  Guess I'll have to dig out the tape and watch it again.  Besides, wouldn't it be something to have that "Bailey Magic" pistol with the two triggers?

From watching it closely this last time and comparing the movie guns with photos of originals, I would say that he is carrying single action Schofields.
They are top break and do not have the trigger/trigger guard profile of the DA Schofields.
Although he appears to fire rapidly, the follow-up shots are always from a different camera angle, giving him time to cock the hammers unseen and giving the impression of double action.
As far as the Adams inferral goes, the pistol she has looks like it could be one, even though it was "custom made". It sure is ungainly and odd looking.
The gun, not her.

There is one scene after they are attacked by the Mexicans at the house on the beach where you see Thomas reloading one of his pistols and it was a Schofield, but I don't know about the other one.

When she was shown the gun, he said it had 2 triggers, one to cock it and one to fire it. Also, said it was a 45.  Hard to tell, who looks at the gun! I just assumed he was describing a schofield.  Also, Ernest Borgnine was shooting a 1875 Remington in the last scene, I believe.

In one of the scenes, she is walking out to the beach. My wife qips...looks like she has both barrels loaded...  I roared!  And she is not even a CAS lady (although she is likeing my new found love of westerns)

See ya on the trail,

I am nearly sure that they weren't Schofields but either New Model Number 3s or one of the variations of the Double Action 1st New Models.  Now we all know how Hollywood does things so it is possible that he had different guns in some scenes.  At one time I thought I saw the distinctive square back trigger guard of the double actions.
