Gunfight re-enactment/shooting demonstration
(1/1)
Silver Creek Slim:
On June 19, 2004, 10am - 4pm in Appleton, WI, the Fox Cities Children's Museum is having their 2nd Annual Wild West fundraising event. The Director of Education for the Museum asked the Liberty Prairie Regulators if we wanted to be involved in this event. I thought it might be possible to have a gunfight re-enactment. Anyone who is involved in such activities, I would like to get your input on this. What is involved in doing a re-enactment? For instance: How big of an area is needed for it? How far away for spectators should the gunfighters be? How far away should the combatants be from each other? What are the liability concerns? Do you make your blanks or do you buy them? Do you use just pistols or shotguns also? Etc.
If we can't pull this together for this year maybe we can have a shooting demo like SASS puts on at DU Great Outdoors events.
So, I would like to ask any pards from WI (and maybe MN, IL, etc.) your thoughts on helping with either or both of these activities. The downside is it is the same day as the Liberty Prairie Regulators' monthly shoot.
Thanks for your assistance,
Slim

Slim, June is getting pretty full for me already. Why don't you contact Sierra Jack Cassidy of The Western Wisconsin Wild Bunch. He'll probably have some suggestions.
