The story of an 1870's buffalo hunt
Ottawa Creek Bill:
Del....
What do you think of The Great Buffalo Hunt?....... I think it is one of the best references on the subject that shows the everyday life and perils of those that chose to partake in this hazardous endeavor. I think I've read it about a dozen times.

If you want your own, you can get one off of ABE Books
http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=Gard&bi=0&bx=off&ds=30&sortby=2&sts=t&tn=The+Great+Buffalo+Hunt&x=41&y=16
You can get a paper back copy for about $4 and a hardback for about $7. Pretty reasonable right in your mail box!! ;D
Fox Creek Kid:
Gard's book is fine for general reading, however for a cornucopia buy these two of a planned four vol. series:

I picked up a copy of "Getting a Stand" the other day. Pretty good read. I wish I might find stories about the Canadian Buffao hunts though.
