A while back, Pietta started making a Replica 1878 Hammer Double. Was announced by EMF (Naturally) and I was real impressed by the initial (thought Poor) Photos. Intrigued as it twer.
Today, some earlier, I saw a YouBoob of some guy from Serbia on a tour of the Pietta Factory. Tail end of the presentation was the "guide" at Pietta showing off the Replica 1878. Nice. Really NICE!!
I believe, in fact, it is made from pure, unadulterated gottahaveieum. I feel I will soon, again, have a Gun Fund out shaking a Tin Cup. I absolutely have to have one. GOTTAHAVEIEUM.

Ill be watching
But Im changing corners and getting a different tin cup. Only funds in the present one is the seed money :-\

Well, Now that I have been bitten by the New Shotgun Bug. Something I should know, but if I did I don't remember.
Does anybody know for sure ... Whom is making the "Deluxe 1878" for Cimarron??? I know the gun isn't Chinese but don't recall whom makes it. A weak mind needs to know :o
-
I hope they'll offer a full length version with chokes cowboy hunters can use.
-
The "Deluxe" '78 from Cimarron is by Daudson (Pakistan).

Thanks Abilene ;D
Just what I needed/wanted to know sorta remember.
I admit to having to think about it. The Cimarron example is a tad less money than the Pietta. Of course both are a TAD less money than my Pedersoli. But really, I currently NEED a New Hammer Double. Absolutely ::)

And here I thought the Cimarron version was made in Turkey. Not sure Pakistan is an improvement.
Looking forward to seeing and reading more about this Pietta version. I have a silly fondness for hammer doubles.
