Sale on 58 Remington
« on: May 05, 2006, 08:41:16 AM »
I noticed the other day that Dixie Gun Works is having a sale on their Euro Arms 1858 Remingtons:
http://www.dixiegunworks.com/product_info.php?products_id=3536

I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the Euro Arms Remingtons. How do the compare with Uberti and Pietta? If they're good, I might just have to take advantage of this deal.

Thanks Sundance! I checked out that one on Track of the Wolf, and I think it's so cheap because it's used. That's a really good deal though. Very enticing..... ;)

S&S Firearms of Glendale, NY sells the Euroarms .44 cal '58 Rem for $190. plus shipping. They're great people to deal with,...ask for Phil. I asked him to check and make sure mine had good cyl./bore alignment before shipping it, and he did.

The Euroarms Remmy has the lightest frame (i.e. fastest pointing) and smallest grips of all the Remingtons currently made. I like 'em. The two I have (a SS 44 & a beater 36) will shoot all  day w/o gumming up. Don't know why either. I like Ubertis too but the Euros are much lighter.

I'll cast a vote for Euroarms at $190. I have an older Armi San Paolo (ASP) Which was Euroarms before they moved from San Paolo. Love it my favorrite Rev. Also have a Piretta an a Uberti Rem. Both are fine have there advantages, you can't go wrong buyin' a Pietta at Cabelos for $179.99 though. Pietta's chambers and grooves are tighter in tolerance .451" balls, Uberti have dovetaild sites and loading lever catch, .454" ball. Both are real good shooter ...a matter of preferance I guess.

I'll stand by my Euroarms/ASP Remmy's and they'll stand by me! Gots 4 of them, two cut down to 4 3/4 " Gunslingers, two origianl 8 " BBL.s. I LOVE mine!

Smokin_Gun, you'll drool over one of the Gunslingers...has Faux Ivory Grips and both Gunslingers  are still Blue. As Are the *" ones. Need to build a front sight for one of the Gunslingers.
