I'm starting work on being ready to shoot Black Powder Single Shot at the next Brigade Muster.  (1873 Trapdoor Springfield Carbine)  Twenty five pounds of Dupont black powder and a coffee can full of 405 grain hollow base bullets should get me started!

Yep.  Lucked into the powder.  Got it cheap, too.  Looking forward to giving it a try!

The can is probably worth $50, not counting the powder.

And lots of it!  I've got a block of SPG, but I make my own that's very similar.

How does the Dupont powder compare to modern Schutzen or Swiss?

Niederlander

I'm told it's a lot like Old Eynesford, but I have no idea.  Going to find out how it works, though!

:) Sure hope so- In my 1884, the Swiss shoots 2X- 3X better than the Schutzen.
