Title: 1883
Post by: Jack Wagon on January 22, 2022, 08:11:47 PM
A new western on Paramont + is the prequil to Yellowstone. A good old school western with a lot of action. You will see some familiar faces, I like it. Jw

Yep, I bought the season!  Fairly gritty and realistic.

It is a good western...but I found it depressing.

Agreed. The little gal's character a little hard to buy, though. :-\

If they really researched it, it could have been money.   My grandparents were married in 1904, took the train to California to visit family.  On the return trip, they stopped in Colorado, cashed in their ticket and bought a wagon and 2 horses and drove them back to Illinois.  Family lore says the returned with money in their pocket.   I have not seen 1883 yet, but that is a thought.

Story line of 1883 doesn't line up with the time line of the era.

Haven't seen the H. Ford era, Haven't followed Yellowstone either, I don't have Paramount +
I did watch the previous incarnation 1883 bootlegged on Movie's on Utube.
I saw all the episodes except the last one, I decided not to watch, as I knew the ending spoilers.

I don't understand how Elsa turns up in the Harrison Ford's continuation, I assume in flashback or narration.  :-\

They ran it on Paramount on Dish.
Had to laugh at the season ending of Yellowstone last year when they were taking the herd from Montana to south east Colorado because of the drought ( real world se Co in worse drought than Montana), and they were all wound up about having to live on the range and work the wagons..... Like there aren't ranches, towns and farms all over that part of the world.... LOL

I thought they were moving the herd due to an out break of brucellosis in the local bison.

Well that too, but they would of had to bangs tested, and then quarantine for 90 days and retest once they arrived.. So that working out of the wagon deal still ain't gonna work to good..
