I will add my "AMEN! and THANKS!" to that as well. My father served in the Marines; my brother in the National Guard, as well as several Uncles and cousins in varying branches of the service. Thank you all and God bless!

Always liked this photo so I thought I’d post it with a thanks to those who served then and those who have served since this was taken and to those who are continuing to serve.

I would like to take the liberty to post a photo of my father in North Africa. He was with the 109th Combat Engineers, 34th 'Red Bull' Infantry Division. They removed landmines, concertina wire for troop advancement. He was wounded at Anzio taking down concertina wire. Whenever I have a bad day, I just look at this photo in my office. He is on the right, his buddy was KIA.

(Not wounded by the wire, but by a German machine gun strafing the area at night. He was hit in the ankle and had a limp for life. Everybody has a story, but hard to image a young farm kid leading his platoon under fire.)
