Winchester 1873 In 22 Long

I have had 1873's in 22 caliber before, but never have I seen a good bore until I got this one. It not only has a good bore, it is shiny. I paid $100.00 for a carton of 500 22 long ammunition. Not cheap, but if you are going to shoot, you need to have ammo.

I took it out this weekend and sighted it in on a box, then started shooting cans. It certainly is capable of fine accuracy. That can cost me a couple dollars of ammo to shoot, but if you are going to shoot you have to buy the ammo...

Very nice!  I have known a few folks who had one, but never known anyone to actually shoot one!  Most have very poor bores...

Any Canuck that wants an original '73 in 22 Long need look no further than Ellwood Epps in Orillia, Ontario. They are listing one in "Fair" condition for a mere $2900.
The bore is likely not great, but a reline will take care of that PDQ.

That are also listing several Taylor's 'Commanches' in .45 Colt, Burgess repro rifles also in .45 Colt and a pair of Uberti '76's in 50-95.

Didn't Navy Arms offer a '73 in .22 LR back in the 1970's?

I have a Navy Arms '66 in 22LR that I bought in 1968.This is a carbine model. I just don't remember them importing any '73's period.

I too had a Navy Arms '66 Carbine in .22 LR, that I bought in about 1968.
Shot well but was rather heavy for a carbine.
I don't recall them making a '73 in a .22 cal.
