Great photos you all are posting. I'll have to get some of my duds and gear. All I have are photos that don't show what I wear these days. Thanks for sharing.

Here are a couple more from the archives.......The feather bustle and traditional fan, are the real thing, Bald and Golden Eagle feathers, very, very old.  I like things to look they way they were as much as can be documented. I research everything I wear and make most of my clothing if I can't buy it already made. If I can't find at least two first hand references for an object, it gets tossed out, no matter how much I like it or how nice it looks. Everything is hand stitched, either by me or a family member. All quill & bead work work is done by my daughter and sister.

Yeah, you're right. Thanks for mentioning that. I'll list what it shows. There really isn't much more to it as it was taken as an avatar pic. The hat is a mid-range Jackson Hole Hat Co one that I steamed to make it look more authentic. the vest is a Wah-maker. The shirt is COWS. The bandana is cut from a remnant by Cactus Concho in Las Vegas.

OK, I found one that will show a little more. The hat is another JHHCo one. The shirt is Wah with the buttons up the rear and slip in decorative ones on the front. The vest isn't totally correct because when I had it made I didn't realize a flat bottom would be more suitable. The frock coat is a wool Wah-maker. The pants are made by Cactus Concho. The boots are Tony Lamas with the seam turned out and covered. They're a copy of a pair that was made in the mid-late 1800's purchased from Golden Gate Western Wear (also Knudson Hat Co.) The holster is a later California style I made to look representative of the 1880's on a plain 2" belt with a correct clip-corner buckle (not seen in the photo). The pistol is a Uberti Remington NMA made to resemble a Beals and fitted with a cartridge conversion. Forgive the bottles in the background. I didn't have any control over that. ;)

Couple more from the archives....then I'm finished

Bill

Me and GW Schofield (Steve Coop) Paintsville Kentucky 2006

Grand Entry, International Festival, Grand Rapids Michigan 1983. The 31 Eagle feathers on the staff I am carrying represent 31 Aanishinabe killed in the Korean war.

This is a shot from the four hour History Channel series, "Legends of the Old Northwest". This was taken during the "Tecumseh" segment. That is me and my son William (on the left) 1997.

Finally, Sgt. E-5 Bill Proctor, Vietnam 1966. I thought I'd throw this one in for fun. This was taken seven months before I got wounded

I went through my ward robe today and I guess counting my traditional dance outfits, 18th, 19th reenactor outfits and CAS outfits...I must have around 30 complete sets of clothing. I counted 15 pair of moccasins that I have made over the years from woodland pucker toes, rabbit nose, center seams, winter muk luks to southwestern Apache moccasins, plains hard sole side seams...Funny thing is I only have one pair of boots, and they are period correct cavalry boots.

Marshal... I have one the knudson hats, it is a custom early telescope crown (not Roy rogers style) with a seven inch brim. I really like his hats and he'll make anything you want. I had him copy a photo of a rangers hat taken in 1868. His hats are a little pricey but well worth the cost. The hat is in one of the tin type photos on this forum that I posted.

By the way....you look like you could have stepped out of a Texas saloon around 1875........

Thanks, Bill. I looked back a few pages at that hat. It looks good. Bill Knudson does do a good job on those hats. He gave me a few hints on how to shape hats and I now re-do most of my own to my liking.

Sounds like you have quite a collection of mocs. If I ever decide to make some, I'll pick your brain. I've often thought about making some ankle high ones.

If nothing else, this thread is a HUGE motivator.  Gonna get a little more serious now.

This cloak is made of black velvet and line in a red cotton. The red showing on my shoulders turns into a hood for a really cold evening.

Here is one, the older lady Millie and her late husband were some of the founding members of the local muzzle-loading club.  The kids are a Great-Great Niece and Nephew, that she brought along to Rock Creek Station last year.  The kids are related to a friend from a Lab forum whio lives in Florida so we took the picture to send her.

Fred is there, just just can't see him, his ashes were sprikled on the West Ranch which is where we are.

Here's a set of my friend Rick who has started being a cooks helper for me.  Sometimes he wears a hat on his head, sometimes a bandanna.  He did real good, rolled his own, used a kitchen match to light it, and I now made him a couple of small calico bags to put his makings in, his can with the plastic lid don't quite make it. ;)

He had a problem that we think is fixed now, but his feet swelled to much for his boots, so he stayed close to camp.

I need to find some material that photo's well and do a post on how to make them, they are simple and take no more than 10 minutes or so with a machine.  Mine are more durable than the original tobbaco ones because of the way I fold them and make them.

Once my real confuser is done reformating I'll post a picture.  I like the way they hang from a shirt or vest button.

Lots of pictures of them that way esp in the Civil War.
