How close are you to Lockheart? That's where we shot a Grand Muster in 2010, but some of the members had some problems and they didn't host again the next year. Most of them haven't been seen online for a couple of years. Here's the club that hosted before:

http://pccss.org/

They even mention having GAF matches on their website. Maybe try contacting them.

Edit: You might also pm Dusty Boddams, He's not a GAF member as far as I know, but I have corresponded to him on Surplusrifleforum, he and some friends are doing some Milsurp rifle shooting in TX, although I think they do all the bolt action era, not only pre-1900 or pre WW1. He's on CAS City, too.

I reviewed posts here regarding GAF folks in Texas. They all seem to be gone AWOL over the past few years. The Plum Creek Shooting Society is indeed based in Lockhart, not too far from me, and I have been referred to a SASS member there.  I may go to their next local shoot to get some info on any GAF pards that perhaps shoot SASS now.

Texas Sarge here,
Remember we live in TEXAS which is a whole different place than the united states, but thats a different story.

This is for Elhombreconnonombre almost wore out my telegraph device on that name.

The GAF is alive and well at the Plum Creek Shooting Society just south of Lockhart.   We shoot the first Sat every month and there is usualy 4 or 5 shooting GAF categories. So if you show up Aug 2nd you can shoot GAF 1-revolver & 1 rifle lever or single. Ask for Sarge , Scooter, or Long Juan.  Hope to see you.

Sarge, we need to get you up here for next year's Grand Muster!  You'd love it, and being in June, I can ALMOST guarantee it won't snow this time!

Sarge, you DO realize Nebraska is pretty close to Colorado.  You could visit grandkids, say, around late June!

Sarge, I looked on MapQuest, 6hr 44 min from Denver to Fort Pitspitr. For a Texan, isn't that about average driving time to go to the corner store for milk and bread? If the Grands are big enough, just pick them up and bring them with you!

Sarge
Aug 1 then at Plum Creek. Look for the gray-bearded guy with a buckskin shirt and a huge strawhat. What time should I get there? I don't currently have a longgun, but do have a pair of ASM Walkers, a pair of Pietta 1858s,  a Le Mat, and a Pietta Buffalo fantasy revolver with a shoulder stock. This last one is a totally "unapproved" revolver or longarm, per all of the organizations, but still fun.

I came across a nice condition "Zulú" 12 gauge Snider style breech-loading single shot cartridge shotgun (original French milspec musket/rifle converted in Belgium after the Franco Prussian War) recently at a pawnshop. Is this acceptable for the Foraging Scout class along with a single action cb revolver, circa 1870 in French colonial North África?

Sarge-
That's not too far from San Antonio!

If I come to Plum Creek, what's the course of fire; how much ammo would I need (S/S rifle/ 1873 revolver)?

Elhombre: That would be great, although in 1870 those Tabithere rifles were probably all still rifles, not shotguns yet. They were used quite a bit during the Franco-Prussian War, as a second line weapon, with the Chasspot being the main front line rifle.

Because of the scarcity and cost of many of the foreign pistols, you can also use an SAA with just about anything, as well as your C&B.
