Armi-Sport 56-50 Rifling twist...
« on: May 25, 2005, 11:15:25 PM »
   Greetings, Folks!

 I presently own a Romano 1860 Spencer, but would like to eventually try a Armi-Sport 56-50 Infantry Rifle that they say is coming out.
 Personaly, I don't object to bullets on the softer side: they're less hassle, and work better on critters. Rifling twist becomes an issue, however.
 Has anyone measured the twist on their Armi-Sport Spencer? I'd be obliged.

            Thanks Mucho!

Romano = 1 in 36. Armisport 56-50 = 1 in 24.

The Romano may be 1 in 48. Larry told me once but I am not 100% sure.

   Greetings!

 Thanks to Fox Creek Kid for the Taylor / Spencer twist rate; 1-24"! And I thought my Romano had a fast twist!!!
 I've had great success water & oven hardening my cast bullets, but it's certainly a hassle... Perhaps I'll just have to save up for the Armi-Sport Infantry Rifle & find out the hard way...!

        Thanks Again & Be Well!
