Well folks its time to start scheduling vacation and making resevations.
The 2009 NCOWS Convention, Victorian Trade Show, Banquette and Ball are being held at the Reardon Center in Kansas City, Kansas again this year. We've moved the date to March 20, 21 & 22 (with vendor set up on the 19th) in an attempt to avoid another blizzard.
There will be great vendors, seminars on old west topics and the Vitorian Banquette/Ball to top everything off.
If you are interested in any aspect of the "Old West" era, you need to make this event.
More details to follow.

Another perk for this years conventiion:
As new NCOWS members are signed up at the convention, thier name will be put in a bucket, hat or something, and at the end of the convention two names will be drawn for a "complete" outfit. More accurately a $ 200 gift certificate for one male and one female new member.
This is cortesy of Work-N-Ranch and one of their suppliers.

We have just added western artist Don Dane. He does very nice Cowboy and Western paintings and prints.
We are working to get a sculpter who does outstanding bronzes.

Sounds like a really great line-up scheduled. Unfortunately, me and the Missus won't be making it this year. My new work schedule won't allow it. Have a great convention, and post plenty of pictures afterwards!

Time is getting short if you want to attend the NCOWS Convention. We will have to cut off further registrations after next Wednesday, March 18.
Grizzle Bear
-
For those who can only come for a day, you can get in on a day pass at the door. But the full experience including the banquet and Victorian ball make the full registration a bargin.

...And we have just added the builders of the new Peabody Rifle to the growing list of Vendors. ;D ;D

I may be able to make it, but it will only be a 1 day deal. Miss Freeda is still thinking on it.
How many vendors will be there?
Is there a good hat maker?
DM
-
I know there will be some hats available, but we couldn't get an actual hatmaker this time.
GB
-
We are going to have about 28 vendors from at least 7 states.
Alas no hat makers or dealers have signed on; yet.
I'll try to post a complete list tomorrow.

Bro. Trap, This will be my first NCOWS Convention to attend. I recently purchased a period-correct "apron", just in case there might be a Ranger meeting during the Convention. I am really looking forward to attending this year.
-
I am sure there will be a ranger meeting and induction. We need to set a time when it won't conflict with something else.
Anyone have ideas? How about Sat at high 12

High 12 is fine!
