Custer Commemorative, second gen Colt , or maybe a 7th Cav Commemorative.

They were produce at the old Iver Johnson factory Fitchburg, Massachusetts by  Louis Imperato from Uberti raw parts.

The time frame would have been 1981-82 , It would have had a case , and accessories .

They are collectable, but the price is steep  for here in the US  particularly if the case and accessories are not present.

Just fyi.  Price about right for the full case set,  too much for the gun alone. The C and F series 2nd generations are good guns.  The Later "Signature Series" with Saml Colts signature stamped on the backstrap, those are the true tarted up Uberti's, I avoid those.
Civilize them with a Krag . . .

 >:(  Oh Bother   >:(

I find it annoying when Mike Belleview is the cited "Authority."  While he is a You Tube personality and a nice guy, he ain't "the" authority.  Sorry Mike, close, no cigar.

Much more than the Barrel, cylinder and Back Strap were Uberti parts.  The parts were finished and the guns assembled here at Iver - Johnson.  Colt will acknowledge and letter some of them.  The guns also suffer the usual Uberti malady of "Short Arbor" syndrome.  Many of us don't feel the guns were ever intended to be other than "collector fodder."

Signature Series are even worse.  As noted by Drydock, to be avoided like the plague.  Colt will neither acknowledge nor letter the guns.

PLUS ONE for Major 2.  The sample example submitted is a real nice gun but well over-priced, especially without the display case and accouterments.

True that

Afternoon Guys  ;D  there is no case with it. Bare gun only. Prices are stupid for anything like it!  An 1851 in reasonable to good condition is around $400-$500 ? If it's worth collecting it's big bucks here.  Would be great if we could import some of the stuff that you can get your hands on. A good example is 44/40 cowboy dies & Redding Profile Crimp die  :o  that's like finding rocking horse p****  The only is to try and find some one willing to send them over to here ?  Anyway thanks for the replies.  I would like to WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR  :D

Kind Regards,
John

No argument here  :)  the current rate of exchange is

US Dollar to Australian Dollars Converter

US Dollar USD $ 1.00   to  Australian Dollar AUD $ 1.33

Rates last updated at 12/15/2020, 6:16:05 AM

I stated the listed Aussie price  listed of $1000  was "steep here in the US " and so it is,

but not to be taken as advice or condemn the deal for an Australian buyer....

Here the gun may lay on the shelf a good long while @ $700  VS the  $1000 in OZ.....based on the exchange.

In Australia , $700  would appear a screaming deal .

;D Morning Guys, Well it is here ? Just a quickie, On the Professor's last post, and for those who are interested ?  Dealers such a Rebelgunworks,  Safarifirearms, and a heap of other ? Show a list of available C&B guns on their sites, but that's what is available from the importers ? 99% of them are not in stock and even the importers don't have them, They are on the water some were?? according to the importers, and the add is the old price, We can't give you an exact price on new imports, it will depend on the dollar ? at the time.
An idea of powder prices are around $140 for 3f,2f, a kilo. Caps run any were from $15--$30. Depending on what you can get, and if you can get them?  And over here they don't have to take our guns. Just take the caps and we are totally stuffed. Any way got a go this was supposed to be a quickie   ::)     Again I would like to WISH YOU ALL A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY AND SAFE NEW YEAR

Kind Regards,
John

Exactly. They don't have to take our guns. Just take the ammo and reloading components and we are dead in the water.
