Div. of Iowa muster 2023

To All, the Div. of Iowa will be hosting its State Muster on Sat. 23 Sept. at the Big Springs range south of Grinnell, Iowa. The match will be two skirmish stages, precision rifle and precision pistol. The round count is 30 pistol and 60 rifle. The round count is approximate, as this is a no miss match. Rain date is Sun. 24 Sept. If we are not rained out on Sat. we will do a fun shoot on Sun. All GAF categories will be available for the match on Sat., the funday categories will be pistol caliber long guns in Modern, Period and .22lr. A light lunch will be provided on Sat. Camping is available at the range and there are several motels in Grinnell (13 miles from the range) We will hold a Fire & Fellowship session on Fri. and Sat. after the range goes cold. Looking forward to seeing everyone then.

UPDATE: Round count is set, Main Match- 40 rifle / 11 pistol. Precision rifle-10. Precision pistol- 6. These are minimums, all targets are must hit- plan accordingly (anyone remember what happened in May?). Sundays stage is 20 targets, no limit on ammo. See ya then

Al, are you at liberty to share what range the Precision Rifle component of the Match will be shot at?  No Long Range?

B.N.Scotty, I'll tell you what I can, Precision rifle will be 10 rounds on paper. The distance will be between 100 and 200 yards. We have done the longer distances for awhile and thought we'd change things up this time. If there is enough interest we can set something up for happy fire after the match for longer distances. Hope this helps.
