Winchester Model 1892
« on: May 12, 2012, 12:06:39 AM »
Just purchased and put over 100 rds. through my new Winchester Model 1892 short rifle in caliber 44 remington magnum. I have owned new lever action Winchesters in the past. The Miroku made in Japan model 1892 is the smoothest little lever rifle extant. The machining, fit and finish is outstanding and much better than most anything that came out of the Winchester factory even pre 1964. I don't like saying that because I am a red blooded American but, the CNC equipment and metallurgy available today is incomparable. The parts  are forged and make my cast Ruger Bisley SuperBlackhawk 44 mag look cheap in comparison. The Ruger is a tank and very functional but needed a trigger job. The '92 is well, sweet, butter smooth, and accurate.
