Rather steady flow of visitors @ the Museum today, I had guessed it be slow the day after Christmas  :-\

Afternoon all and belated Merry Christmas.

Had a lazy day yesterday. We just stayed around the house, took the dog down to the river, and then returned to our lazing. I made some pork chops with peppers and mashed potatoes for chow. Bing Crosby's wish came true and we got another 2-3 inches.

My parents, siblings, grandmother and a friend of my sister's will be here Thursday or Friday, depending on weather. The house will be full, but I suppose that's part of the Christmas experience.

Plans for the rest of today include more lazing, and possibly a brief squirrel hunt with the floppy-eared one. This morning we went to the feed store and bought more grain for the horse, which might have sapped my "out in public" motivation. We'll see.

Further updates as events warrant.

Welp, today was the day someone left the lid off the fruit loops jar or the gate to Happy farm open!

This guy comes in and says "Who do I look like?'

I'm thinking something like Capt. Jack Sparrow but I can't think of the Actors name ...

mostly because I'm in awe, eye shadow, beaded dread locks, rings, gorget breast plate, tattoos and a Yameka.

well,.... I was wrong, "he said he was the second coming" ...and then it got weird, weirder.

he said "He was the CAPTAIN"
He preached, sang and held a cut glass sugar bowl over his head...   this guy was way over the coo coo nest

This guy made me a might concerned.... :o
...cut glass sugar bowl over his head he said was "for the Blood "(real blood" he said, of his "inaudible" flock. :-\

His accent made it hard to completely understand much of what he was rambling about....

I was hoping someone was coming with a NET!   anybody!  any net!

I remained calm and try to appear I was not a threat.  especially each time he reaches into his backpack (3 times)

I hit all hands-on deck button, and fortunately he decided to move on without any further drama.

My day was quite boring compared to the good Majors. Church today and an afternoon nap. The Missus has gotten me hooked on "All creatures great and small" a nice show and looking forward to more of them. 66 here now at almost 10pm and supposed to be in the 70 the next couple of days. A new water heater is going in tomorrow so that is a relief off my mind as the relief tank is starting to leak and the heater is in the attic that is a new one on me].

Are you sure it wasn't Depp? He's known for being a few fries short of a happy meal.

Quite sure, one of the spookiest things, he wants to show me his treasures, and went to his into his backpack three times.

One was the afore mentioned cut glass sugar bowl, though the first thing was a single USFA Staff Sergeant Chevron.
The third?  I never saw what that was...as that is when a museum volunteer showed up.

Unaware, if he was threat, or the 3rd item might be a weapon... my hand was in my pocket and the clutching my carry gun

Yeah, it got that real !

Morning all.

Weather here has been holding steady around 0F, with little snow showers here and there.

I have today off work, something about "not enough work to go around." Fair enough, I'll live and consume too much coffee at home.

Finally got an appointment at the county courthouse to sign the paperwork to make the Mrs my official Mrs in the eyes of the IRS and DOD. One wouldn't think it would be terribly difficult to get 3 signatures, but apparently it is. So at 9am on Monday, I can officially change my tax status.

Well, the wife made it back from Milwaukee yesterday.  Got home to a tad over six inches of white stuff down here at 5000ft, There's a little over 10 ft up at Lake Tahoe, and even more at the Sierra crest.  I80 was closed from Christmas until 3:00PM yesterday due to deep sn@w and white-out conditions.  Winds were pushing 100MPH in some places.

Nice and calm today with some sun and a high of 39.  Looks like no precep. for the next week or so.  Getting ready for New Years Eve.

We're looking at some white precipitation this weekend. AccuWeather has it pegged at somewhere between 1" to 8" . . .
