Howdy
Today after work I stopped at Whittaker  Gun to check on a 1873 I had ordered months ago . He informed me he hadn't recieved any guns from Uberti in over 8 months . Is there a problem ?

Rowdy...FYI:  All the firearm manufactors in Italy close down for the month of August or September, can't remember which... as told to me by Taylor & Company.  Do not know IF that has anything to do with your order???  Just so you know.

Don't know what's going on . Whittaker hasn't received any Guns in 8 months . He has over 40 on back order ? The Italians have it made with the month of September off . Has anyone ordered and received Uberti guns lately ?

Rowdy,

I bought a 45-60 (Uberti) in September this year... but it was from Taylors & Company in Virginia. It may have been on the shelf for a long time ??? do not know. I bought on the phone on a Monday and had the gun on Thursday that same week.  I have not bought directly from Uberti in Italy so I do not really know what the problem is.  Sorry... Why not ask your dealer to inquire as to WHY the holdup... a suggestion.

August is the month taken off by Italians.  Which importer is Whitaker ordering from?  Stoeger?  I know Cimarron has been receiving Uberti shipments over the past few months.

I been saving my pennies for a 44WCF, '73 with a 24' barrel,,,looks like when i do get my money rounded up I might have a hard time finding one.

Wonder if it has to do with all the negative euro economy stuff going on ?

Well just FYI Cimarron currently has every barrel length 16" thru 30" 44wcf straight & pistol grip in stock EXCEPT the one you want Rowdy.  You might check Taylors.

I picked the rifle up on Thursday after work was late when I got home . Was able to fire a few rounds yesterday , it works and it's good looking rifle . It's Deer season and Hunting with my other 1873 . The weather here is not good for Hunting or Shooting 40 mph Wind . I was Hunting this morning and the tree next to mine blew down I decided to get down and look for a safer place .

Thanks for the update.  Sounds like an exciting tree stand--as long as the tree keeps standing.

I look forward to a shooting report.  I sure do like my short rifle.
