WW2 Bring back
« on: March 01, 2021, 02:31:36 PM »
I was asked to repair the firing pin on a WW2 Bring back 25ACP.

It's Spanish taken from a German Officer as the story goes  :-\  ( with proof )

Cute little POS , with a little leather flap holster.

also both grips were broken .... so I set about making a firing pin , easy pizzy  and fastened a set of walnut slab scales

The story with provenance made the effort worthwhile

1. The gun  and  2. the shirred off FP

3. the replacement FP is made from a drill bit shank
4. The fabricated replacement, some final fitment and polish and Bobs your Uncle

Everyt WWII vintage handgun was taken off the body of a German officer if in the European theatre and off a Japanese officer if in the Pacific theatre.  With all those officers it is amazing they lost the war.   :D

Well Sir I get your drift...  :)

But in this case , I never said "taken off the body"

I said "taken FROM" ...There is a photo to show it happened.

The first attempt fit but the FP protrusion was a bit to short, otherwise the fit was good
, I have Turned a 2nd  , it needs the slot filed in but should be ample to allow trimming if need be

Odd in that my dad liberated a little .25 auto from a German Nurse that was very similar to that one. Brought home and rested in a drawer until sold in the sixties. Wish he'd not gotten rid of it.

handmade firing pin is installed and pops caps

Grips are now fitted, but the owner has the screws (misplaced somewhere ) hence the rubber band to hold them in place
with the gun....

Hi
That is a seriously UGLY gun considering it's caliber.  You'd expect a 98 Mauser, P-38, or Luger to be messy having been carried in the Snow somewhere in Russia or France, and carried at 90 degrees F a few months later, but a .25 is almost an indoor gun.
