Not exactly warm memories, but they are fond memories.

Glen, Roye's showing his age. I saw him at a football game earlier this year and it kind of surprised me how much he's aged...but I imagine he could still give you a tour.  ;)

The banquet at the Fort sounds great. I can't wait.

As I'm sure most everyone is aware (we've discussed it here before) The Comstock Lodge, our host for the Grand muster banquet the last couple of years, is unavailable for the 2016 banquet. As a result I've been hunting for a suitable replacement venue. It was suggested that we hold the banquet at the camp site, but I'm uncomfortable with this as the possibility of weather issues and dress uniforms don't mix that well. Anyway, I am pleased to announce that I have made arrangements for the banquet to be held at Ft. Hartsuff's barracks and mess hall with a local restaurant catering the meal.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Ft. Hartsuff, it is a restored 1870's Army post. Given that we will be celebrating the anniversary of the Bighorn and Yellowstone Expedition next year and that the date of the banquet actually falls on the exact date of the 140th anniversary of the Battle of Little Bighorn this should be an especially appropriate site to hold the banquet.

EXCELLENT!!

At the fort, yeah, at Camp Pitspiter, not that I know of. ;)

Only outdoor plumbing is available at the camp. But as long as it's a sunny day, there's warm water for the outdoor shower, and a hose to supply the camp itself. At Fort Hartsuff, no running water in the barracks/mess hall, but there's a well house with bathrooms.

The registration form is attached to the first post of this thread and will likely be posted on the GAF website in the next couple of days.
I strongly recommend folks getting registered early this year. I know we have already completely booked all the rooms in one of the local motels, so I'm thinking participation will be up as most folks always camped in the past. We had 21 in attendance last year, but we've had strong interest from another 24 who weren't attendance last year. If everybody who attended last year comes back and those other 24 all end up making plans to attend that would put us over the 40 participant limit we've had to set.

I am sure there is a tread somewhere with this information but...

What are the max and min ranges for targets for the GAF and Expansion Era Match?  Decisions decisions 1888 TD, 1898 Krag, 03 springfield.

There's not really a minimum range-if you're missing, or the targets don't go down, you can move up. I think the longest shot, at least on the stages I'm familiar with, is one "across the valley" shot that I believe is still less than 100 yards.

Long range was changed last year, and I wasn't there. Previously it was 300 yards, and full power jacketed ammo was allowed for that one.

Ranges vary from 20 to 100 yards, on half scale silhouette targets.  Long ranges uses full power ammunition on 3 armor steel targets placed 100-200-300 yards  See below for a Skirmish run.

I'M IN! And the Quigley is the weekend before! What a great two week vacation!

I'll be driving out from New England, pulling a travel trailer,  if anyone wants to come along.
