It comes standard with .096 ring.
Options are
.040
.070
.096 * ( already included )
.125
.155
I think the most useful would be the big ring .155?
They cost $20 for each ring.

It depends what range you're shooting. The large would be for fast, close targets.
The small would be for shooting a serious group at distance, and the one that
comes with it sounds like a compromise in between.

yeah sounds right. I remember now I have some rings on a rifle sight, might fit on there. then I would know what works where.
I see Skinners has a blank that goes into the rear dovetail where the iron sight used to be and it holds a ring there laying flat just to store it, not to use it. Sort of a different idea...

A few years back I rigged my Uberti 1866 with the Lyman N0.2 tang sight, with the issued insert. At a match, with BP, on a mover on a line, rapidfire, I couldn't see well enough for subsequent shots. Too much smoke, if that is possible!
The next time, I removed the insert and Lo! I could see! So I tossed the insert and never looked back.

I have a '92 that came with a Lyman No 21 sight. The peep on it is a about where the Skinner sight would put the peep. It has a flip up insert but I always just use the large peep. I just measured it at .150" for the large peep. I shoot pretty well with it. This rifle is my favorite carry around the ranch gun when I'm walking. I have either tang or receiver sights on every rifle that I can find one for and seem to always go for the large peep. But I have 71 year old eyes. A young fellow might like a smaller one.
