I know the fellar that built it and have seen it. He lives not too far from here.

I ran across this a couple of weeks ago too. I really wish I had the time and money to build one  :-\

Very cool....

I wonder, though, if there's any problem with corrosion where the chamber plug meets the barrel, on the inside end, where it isn't welded?

It is a full scale Mountain Howitzer on a pack carriage:  with all the 'bells & whistles,'  $ 5000.00.
I'll even thow in some friction primers and maybe some powder.

I prefer yankee dollars, but would consider trading all or part for CAS guns.

I can't afford to buy it, but if it just happened to show up at the Muster next week, I'll try not to drool on it(very much).

Our venture crew acts as cartakers for 4 mountain howitzers the scout council owns.  I'll post some photos from some of our events.  The first ones are from 2 different memorial day ceremonies we did at local cemeteries in 2009.  I got to be the battery commander for the ones shown firing.

These next ones are at winter camp also in 2009.  Troopers learning the artillery drills.

These are from a reinactment where we took 2 pieces into the field along with 2 platoons of dismounted cavalry.  Also from 2009

Here is a single in our camp at a reinactment.  The photo that appears to show 4 mountain howitzers is from the 2010 winter camp.  However the 3rd from the right covered with canvas is actually a gatlin gun on the same carraige as the howitzers.  I'll post some photos of it next.

Ok here are some photos of our gatlin gun at a 2010 event.  We were testing it out in camp and did not take it into the field.  Made the confederate troops a little nervous.

We now have all the bugs worked out and will take it into the field soon we hope.  This does not use metalic cartridges but instead uses single cylinders loaded into the magazine.
