It's been a while, been spending most of my available gun funds on ammo, components, etc. Other home projects, too. But last week I just threw out a couple of bids on Fun Broker, and won both! One was for a second model S&W .38 break top (I'll blame Books O'Tool for reminding me I wanted one) And the other a Mauser 1871/84 rifle. I could blame that one on Whiskey Double for having one at the Muster, but really I remember reading a gun magazine write up on them many years ago, back when OWS was selling them. Always wanted one, but never managed to make it happen. They're still not here yet, though. The Smith looks to have been re-finished, not really a collector. But it's shiny! Almost a bar Bar-B-Q  pistol, nickle plated with a gold hammer and trigger guard. Mauser is a bit rougher, and includes a re-worked Chasspot bayonet. Germans did that with captures from the Franco-Prussian war, but seller says he did this one himself.

Put a couple of bids in on a smith .22 revolver and a colt NS but didn’t win either.

Forgot to mention, 1966 S&W Model 19-2, I need to find a set of factory Magna or combat grips for it. If anyone sees any at a good price let me know.

I figure , I'm due one vice  otherwise there is only the ROCK I would live under.

Major,

I live under a rock. No smartphone. No Wifi (or how ever you spell it). And no desire to go there.

And still the lure of yet another USFA reached under my slab of protection and hooked me. Last Wednesday I took delivery of a 5-1/2" USFA Gunslinger (did I mention I hate that name) chambered for the venerable 45 Colt cartridge. It's only detraction is it doesn't have the black powder frame which I greatly prefer. Instead it makes due with the spring loaded, cross-wise cylinder pin retainer. When I get around to pictures I'll post them in the USFA section here.

My question is: how do you fall off a wagon...from under a rock? (smiley face goes here)

Once more I fell victim, become detached from my wagon and plummeted  to the ground.

I have been looking for a British service revolver from WW II ...I've bid on a a few only to see them enter the stratosphere.

Pretty pleased with this one,  bought it over the last weekend it arrive yesterday

Maj, while you were getting all British Empire on us that wagon you guys keep talking about rand over my rock. I found a Miroku Winchester '73 I craved very much and the payment is on the way to the seller. After the USFA I really didn't mean to do that. Not sure what happened (other than I'm going broke).

Gotta go now and get back under the rock. I see another wagon coming. (smile)

I don't think that wagon has any sideboards. And the bed seems a bit greasy. We all keep slipping off, especially when it runs over one of Dave T's rocks. I thought I was safe when PSA sold out their Carcano 91-24 TS carbines. Then I got another one of their E-mails. This time it was M-91 TS carbines. Original made carbines, not arsenal cut down rifles. One is on it's way to My FFL as we type.

Looked hard at a few things, put in a few halfhearted bids but haven’t really jumped yet. Starting a new ‘03 build from the remains of another ‘03 build. I have everything except a upper band and a handguard. In two weeks the Raleigh Military show happens so I’m thinking that I’ll try to attend. A whole lot less crowded than the big Raleigh show. Hoping that I can sell my ‘03 target stuff there to someone building a target ‘03.
