I'm up and the pot is set for early risers

Unable to sleep , so I was skipping around

Just got off work, going to bed.

Was down, now up and hungry. Didn't eat much early, the med change dropped me too low for a bit, made a call and they said monitor it close and see if it adjusts, has lowered the heart rate, down in the 60's instead of 80's. Was 97 over 44 one check.

You all need to clean up the language here. I don’t know what that fancy word means and am afraid to look it up. Who knows what google will show me.
Coffee is up- have some by product of a cow for bleaching and some refined cane sugar for sweetener. Or if you ask some good local honey.
You all have a good day

Everyone tells me they go there for the bread. Of course I have thought the bread sucked anytime I was there and the meat and the cheese was lacking in quantity even ordering extra.

Of course you do ....😂
If you have a “great harvest” they do pretty good bread. I will go that far.
-
Still like home the best for bread. ;)

WAWA has a good coffee bar... their subs get an OK...except the Hot Turkey Gobbler sub (seasonal) ...which is GREAT.... (see photo)
fresh bread made in house...
Frankly , Publix Market Deli makes the best and they also bake their bread fresh at each branch and carry Boar head Meats.
They don't skimp , I'm particular fond of their Cuban sub, (had one yesterday in fact) . and fresh fried chicken sub
As for the chains... I'd go with Quiznos's & Firehouse ( thought we lost the local Quiznos's do to franchising manipulation)
Jimmy Johns is not bad , fresh, but pricy, on average $2-3 more.
Jersey Mikes to light on meats, too much shrubbery and too oil & vinegary...
Subway is merely handy, cheap and may (I say may ? ) do in pinch , because at least down here, you are never more a a few miles from a store front somewhere ... But I skip Subway even though one is just 2 miles from the house, and I drive by a second location on the way (7 miles) to a Firehouse Subs. And still another at the other end of town near our WAWA's
-
Had a few subs delivered when we were stuck at home, prefer to make sandwiches at home.
-
48° here this morning
Hot coffee is ready. Not sure on breakfast this morning it will be of something hot as well.
I have had subs from all ‘cept Firehouse. They are usually packed when we are in town. So have not stopped there. I forget Publix has them as well and agree they are good as well. Subway is like Dollar General (or 7/11) you can throw a rock and hit one. Heck we have one here in Hoduc
May have to turn the heat on this morning

Morning y'all.
Thanks for the coffee.
Going to the Waupaca gun show with a friend and Micah this morn.
It is finally cooling down enough to bake some bread.

They used to have one of these over in Kissimmee and it was good !
But they closed when the owner ceased the Franchise , owner rebranded it and the place failed & sold.
suppose to be one in Longwood, Fl. but 45 miles is out of the question
There is a Family owned place in town ...Philly Steak & Sub, course they have a somewhat limited sub sandwich line up
But the Philly Steak & Cuban are GREAT...
They now also close @ 4: PM daily due to Covid19 -and were never open Sunday

There is gun show in Melbourne this weekend , Its is even a better show in the Winter when the snow bird dealers arrive.
I've made a few good deal purchases in the past...but ! it is way crowded w/ narrow aisles.
I'll be passing till the social crap ease off and perhaps current buying frenzy tapers some.
I am however going to my habitual Saturday Toy Store survey and lunch

Good Morning!
Wife and I went to get our Flu shots. Had to shop around to find a source for the High-Dose. Lots of pharmacies are out of that, but do have the regular strength.
I'm ornery enough that I need the high octane . . .
Pharmacy Tech was very good, neither of us felt it. Now waiting to see if arms get sore.
I would turn on the heat, but we're expecting a couple of low 80's days this week. Furnace guy coming next week to make sure I don't blow up the house when we turn it on, so I'll wait until after the service inspection.

I was handed a Euroarms 51 Navy with date code [XXVI] 1970 ... it has never been fired ... the last time is was even apart was when Luige assembled it....
Still had the packing grease on the arbor , main spring for Dodge truck and rather gravelly....
So a fluff and polish , Arbor had a burr , polished that and fit the wedge, Timing was good, but a bit crunchy, fixed that too, polished the hammer sides at the sear and screw hole.
This gun has been on display since 1998 or so in glass display case, no rust but dry and bit bore dusty...
It is done now and will be shot by the owner , after 50 years as a display queen :o

Last week the guard put me on notice for an activation in a different part of the state for a couple months. So I have been trying to get my civilian life straightened out to work with that: yesterday in Great Falls they changed their minds, so now I have to go back around and get my life back to civilian mode. Gotta love government ::)

Made biscuits and sausage gravy for supper last night. It was a hit with the family. I used good ol' Jimmie Dean's Sage Sausage, and as a bit of a twist, added a jar of Alfredo sauce to the gravy. Enough to have it for breakfast this morning.
My wife was explaining to the grandson that biscuits & gravy was food that all Grandpa's cowboy friends liked. Kinda made it sound like it was what we ate that gave us our secret powers . . .

My evening has consisted of some work on writing, and cooking dinner. I forgot to mention earlier that I bought a new cast iron pan today. It’s a Lodge 10” pan. Inaugurated it with a good hot water wash, followed by a coat of vegetable oil and a half hour in the oven at 450. Then it got to sear some pork and go into the oven for a while at 350 with pork, carrots and butter. As I write, it is cooling down, awaiting another bath and coat of oil.
Also the stuff I was writing is going well. ::)

For those who don't know, we lost Jerry jeff Walker to cancer, I know Mr Bojangles and Redneck Mother are his best know, but I really like this one, was talking about it not long ago, a day in 1986 when the now ex came home from her mom's and asked if I could guess what my daughter (3) was singing at Grandma's (her mom). :o
Well in my defense I was cleaning house and I thought she was napping a couple days before. ::)

Mr. Bojangles, is a song I've always liked, but until this post I never paid attention who the artist was...
I'm somewhat lesser I suppose , I'll like their music, just never followed who the talent behind much of it was.
Oh, maybe unless it was so obvious.
Rest in peace , Mr. Jerry Jeff Walker , Mr. Bojangles is classic
-
Yep ! I'm up ...plumbing check and could not get back to sleep...
So I'll poke the coals, put the pot on and get the corn flakes out .
-
Right with ya, Major 2.
Had a powerful gut ache that woke me. Checked the plumbing, . . . twice, and now can't find sleep again.
Suppose I'll dose myself with some coffee. We're expecting a few inches of snow tonight into tomorrow. Not enough, I'll warrant, to justify getting the snowblower fired up.

Feel better John .... Montezuma’s Revenge no fun :(

Morning y'all.

Slept in, so attending online church this morn.

Almost everyone it seems recorded it Jerry Jeff wrote it.
Snowing here, about an inch, maybe 1-2 more, 25F with WC 12F.
-
I was always partial to John McEuen & Jeff Hanna's cover of Mr. Bojangles...
I knew Sammy Davis did it and quite well , but it was the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band that I though was the best rendition.
In fact I like the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band still.
Coffee is on.... :)

21 and cloudy in Missoula today. Hasn’t been above freezing in a few days. Odd for October, but it makes life more interesting.
This cold has been really rough. 102 fever for 40 hours, finally broke this morning. I took yesterday and today off from work. Back at it tomorrow.

We were grateful to recieve 12" of good wet snow yesterday and overnight out here in the Great Southwest .
More is coming, and we need all the moisture we can get. It is a high desert, after all.
I got the bird feeder and suet thingies filled, and we have a Flicker taken up residence in the flicker box on the side of the house!
I just turned on my Christmas lights, since I had not gotten around to taking them down.
Now, with the snow, the porch looks more appropriate!

Good thing I live in town, not happy with the local flicker, SOB likes to beat it's head against the tree by our bedroom window about sunrise. Woodpeckers have to be one of the dumbest birds in the world. ;D

Showing the rock I live under once again, ::) I did not know what a Flicker was ( assumed a bird ) having not heard of the term :-\
had to look it up ...
Ah so ! The northern flicker (Colaptes auratus) or common flicker is a medium-sized bird of the woodpecker family.

Local electric company has a plastic box at the top of the pole in the yard, I believe it's some kind of transmitter for the meter readings. Anyway, there's a woodpecker here that just loves to pound on that thing. Makes at least double the noise of him pounding on a tree.
-
Local Peckers get in the rain gutter and search for insects in the trapped leaves. Since they are attached, the whole house buzzes and vibrates when they get to doing their thing. Like a mini-jackhammer on the metal gutters

Probably let’s you know if there are any hornet nests in the eaves though. ::)
First day back at work, and first time above freezing in almost a week. Lots of mud and slushy snow. I got stuck three times, but managed self rescue with a shovel.

Morning all.
36 and sunny in Missoula today.
My cold has resolved itself into two stand-alone entities: a sinus infection and bronchitis. Lucky me.
The Future-Mrs. and I are going to look at a house tomorrow. It’s just a 25 year old trailer on 1/4 acre in a “trailer village” (the difference between a trailer park and trailer village seems to be that the neighbors are slightly farther away, and a slightly higher level of white trash. Perhaps white recycling? I digress). It ain’t much, but it’s in our price range, and the mortgage will be half of what we pay for rent now, so we figure why not. In the future we can rent or sell it.

Ha ... deflected fat fingers.....
The revolver was an Enfield #2 Mk1 * FTR circa 1944 .... DAO 38/200 -38 S&W, and spoken for :(
The Rifle was in a word sad ... it was an Enfield Mk 4 that had been bubba sportified ... all markings shaved and appeared powder coated , the barrel bobbed to 25"
I saw only ENGLAND ( import mark ) and a faint broad arrow and a Amory proof on the receiver.
Stock was what I call crudely refinished and varnished, Bore was dark w/ strong rifling and some frosty
.... I would not pay a $100 for it ::)
There should be a law :o
