It saddens me to announce this but a good friend of mine and a great contributor to this page, David Twigg (Dave T), has passed away. They say when a wise older person dies, a library burns. Dave takes with him, untold volumes of wisdom into eternity. I'll miss our many times talking, the coffee, camaraderie, time on the shooting bench and riding the roads of Apacheria. Mostly, I will miss the fellowship of a dear friend and Christian brother.

Here is an article that talks about him and even links to a video we both appeared in. https://www.frontieramericanillustratednews.com/post/winchester-springfield-colt-150th-anniversary-for-three-iconic-american-guns-1873-2023

To those who knew him, he really was larger than life but walked in humble steps. Rest in peace my dear friend.

Very sad news! An email from Dave was always a treat, and usually a good laugh. Back in the early 90s when we both lived in Tucson, Dave was one of the first people I'd call when plotting a shooting excursion. We both wrote for the old Dixie Gunworks Annual, and he freely shared his knowledge, much to my benefit. The first Merwin 44 I shot was Dave's, and the first Spencer he shot was mine. The bad news is that we have lost a true friend. The good news is that when it's our turn, he will be there to greet us.

AZ Trooper, I am glad you knew him also. I have great memories of him and my only complaint is that there weren't more. Glad I got to do a couple of videos with him on Santee's channel (Arizona Ghostriders) and I always loved the range time. It always hurts when an era ends and like you, I look forward to seeing him again.
