Title: "New" ASM 1863 pocket
Post by: nativeshootist on September 18, 2021, 09:41:22 PM: Went to a gun show today and left with a 63 pocket Remington brass frame. Only 120$, first ever Remington style revolver I've owned, it's missing a pin for the loading lever, but I'll find something.

Post by: Johnson Barr on September 19, 2021, 12:48:18 PM: ASM pockets; '49 Colt and '63 Remington are partial to .315 round balls. With 10grs. 3Fg my pair shoot just a inch or so above point of aim. You will also need short skirt caps; RWS #1075 work very well as do Remington #11's.

ram arm for more leverage to seat the .320's. Happy pocket shooting!

Post by: Johnson Barr on September 25, 2021, 02:32:14 PM: You should be able to make a pin from drill bit stock. Find a bit that will fit the rammer hole and use a Dremel cut off disc to cut to the finished length you need. Mine measures 0.077" diameter x 0.280" length. According to my drill size chart; a #48 bit is 0.0760" and a 5/64" bit comes up at 0.0781". No matter what you will have some diddling to do for a working replacement pin.

After drifting mine out from the left side (barrel forward) I found that the pin has a slight taper; 0.077" on the right side down to 0.075" on the left side. Shouldn't be too difficult to manipulate a 5/64" roll pin to fit. Haven't met a cap gun yet that didn't need to be diddled with some how.

Post by: Johnson Barr on October 15, 2021, 01:59:54 PM: Should get you shootin'. My go to cold blue is Formula 44/40 Instant Cold Blue. Works very well but, the parts need to be totally de-greased and dried. Enjoy your shooter. Inspired me enough to take mine to the next match. ;D
