I'm better Z Pack is working for the bronchitis, so I'm starting to back off on the pain meds, tired of being a zombie. When I get shut of them for 3 days I can drive if need be.
I know the z packs usually help me. I do take one tab a day still. I haven?t done any pain killers outside the hospital. I do on occasion take a Hi octane cough syrup. - it will allows me to sleep better. My oxygen levels drop pretty fast. Causing other issues. Like blurred vision muscle control. So I don?t drive to far on my own.
-
My O2 don't drop below 90 and I'd usually 94-96 even exercising in therapy. The congestion makes it a little hard to breath deep but the O2 stays high.
Actually quit smoking before we knew I was having heart problems, but only smoked about 2 packs a week, mostly when driving by myself or when I got writers block.
When the hip was bothering me I ran out and didn't feel like running to the gas station so after about 5 days I decided I didn't need them.
Got an echocardiogram in a couple weeks and if it shows good I should be in good shape when things get healed.
Drs say I should be good to go this summer, 3 of my trips I just need to show up with bedding and such because Norton will be there with the wagon and has more gear than me anyway. The big one will be the Muster and the kids said they'd help load and unload on this end if need be and should be help on the other end. I think the 2 from Wisconsin would help. Once loaded and unloaded I should be fine, Gopher Grease may come and if he does well drive his pickup and use him for the heavy work.
-
90 is a good number to me 94 if I am at rest. Using 4 litres
-
I'm not on any extra O2 so mine is actually pretty normal , but do have an inhaler.
-
Well the woodchuck has chucked his wooden forecast at Gobblers Knob this morning...in the meantime I will just enjoy the seasons one day at a time.

Picture from yesterday, as I said in Francisco's post on Sunday, I have no dignity left, here I am sitting in the daughters boyfriends Prius, in my sweat pants and my velcro tennis shoes, at least I have a purple paisley silk bandana, wool sack coat and a head rag to save a very small portion of my dignity.

Watched the State of the Union, last night. Normally don?t watch them. Can read it the next day. I had said to my wife when it ended. I thought Reagan must had helped write the speech. Mr. Trump was shaking hands as he departed and one of the Senators could be heard saying his speech was very Reaganess. The despicable woman from Commiefornia showed her ass. I still for all that is good in this world don?t know how she continues getting elected. I know there is conservative people in that state. Of course you read on line daily that one says they are moving out. Instead of staying and fixing it.
Jump off my soapbox now.
Coffee is ready ... all you that are ailing I have you mentioned in my prayers this morning.

Looking at local news there is a dusting of snow in and around the Birmingham area this morning.
I counted 6 or 7 flakes while feeding this morning.

Litl Roo, yeah they go and get it for us, oldest one picked up enough plumbing from her step dad to change the bath tub nozzle to a spray type to make it easier to wash hair. Had some problem with old verses new threads but tracked down an adapter. She's the one does most the running, other one is keeping track of the paper work and running when she needs to but she is office manager for their company and has the 2 year old. Stepdaughter is worthless except her daughter Lexie decided she don't want to live with mom or dad but wants to lve with up and that more than makes up for anything her mom us useful for.

True enough. Rivers are running wall to wall, kayakers are hitting them heavy. They say between now and Thursday we could get upwards of 7 inches of rain.
I finished hacking my apple trees today. I have a couple blueberries and a fig to get next. Then if I can a pear tree. I may have to ask my stepson to help with that one.

Fence repair day here, had a kinda bad spot in it, Rowdy wasn't a jumper and was no problem. Little Brown Dog has other ideas. Fence is now high enough to stop him, BIL, Niece and her husband did it, I napped part of the time.
They were glad to do it, kinda hard to watch someone doing what you should be doing, was going to put the leftovers away and reaching in the cupboard at shoulder high trying to find lids and bowls that matched made the dang sternum hurt so Rita's going to do it. :-\
It will get better, not really trying to feel sorry for myself, more pissed that I can't do it. They tell me that is good because it encourages me to try harder with therapy.
Scared Rita twice, yesterday she was at her therapy, I at mine and some guy didn't eat before he came and went down. Scared her when they called medical staff to cardio rehab because of a patient down.
Had my arm around her about 4 am and had one of them falling dreams and jerked hard, woke her up and she had to holler and shake me to get me awake, she said she was scared I'd died on her.
Trying not to scare her today. She still has a heart rhythm problem that she has an appointment for next week, I'm betting she is going to get a pacemaker soon, not a big deal today.

Smoker wood.
Yes- we have plenty of pecan and hickory as well.

Leather recliner Very comfortable, I can relate & confirm .... mine is a perfect nap platform.
I recall I had the opertunity to work on a Robert Conrad film " Murph the Surf " in 1975
I also met the real Jack Murphy in the late sixties and hung out at his Indialantic surf shop.
That was before the Jewel Heist and murders :o

I think "SHE" use Neighborhood Market Walmart ...rather than Super Walmart for food stuffs .... I've yet to go but I have gone by , they are set up with drive thru .
I suspect/seems they are better than the huge Supers or SAMs which I've avoided for years.

Youngest daughter with the 2 year old loves Walmart pickup, on the way. Home and she never has problems with it.

Russ's Market and their big Box Super Saver, local owned local chain, this is what grocery stores should be.
The old man was often seen in the stores talking to customers and helping, a while back his son and the current CEO carried my groceries to the car. I asked if they were that short of help and he said no, he liked to do all the jobs to help him remember what goes on. Got a big smile when I said his dad taught him that.

It will be a new horizon for me , I'm last to the party but I expect I'll adjust just fine.

Like you with social media stuff I leave that up to the queen of the household. We switched to YouTube TV- in witch a mirroring device was attached to TV we use our phones or her IPad to select with. Up to 5 tV?s service is $50 a month-?plus the devices is one time cost. I believe works like firestick.

Weird thing last evening. Around 10 pm that?s 2200 for the official written report. I received a phone call from a unknown caller in my area code 540. I have had the same phone number around 10 years I suspect. It confuses people here when I give them my area code first. Back to the story. I normally don?t pick up unless I am waiting on a return call or recognize the number. I save all contacts so I know. Suzanne and I were watching a show, she said answer that see who would call at this hour.
It was a recorded message. Similar to a a amber alert but done as a phone call not on Emergency freq. the message was pretty much captured in text below. Do you all get these kind of calls? Since that is the first I ever answered i don?t know if it ever occurred before. Our church uses a group message system like this but we know it?s from church.

Thought about it, but that reach to put it in neutral and putting back in gear was enough, that stretch still hurts the sternum. Could do it in an emergency but why, we have 911 for that.

Wish one of you lived closer, we need just a few things and we don't want to bother the kids again, yeah I know, when I am fine I get upset my Mom does the same thing. ;D Rita's going to check and see if Hy Vee delivers on Sunday, they deliver at $35. Got our paperwork back from the rehab people, went to The League of Human Dignity to get picture taken and get our card to ride the Handi Bus, they were closed for Presidents day.
So don't get any dignity issued to us today. ::)

Happy presidents day :(

I wanted my dignity in the form of my handi bus pass and my poor kids do too. :P

I guess you'll have to remain undignified for at least one more day.

It's and over funded non profit thing that gets to suck on the public teat but gets to issue a cripple card so we can ride the cripple bus.
Can we buy the pass from them, no, we have to go to one of several city offices to do that. :P ::)

Made meatloaf for supper, plenty for samwhiches later since Rita won't eat it. No idea why someone would eat a Whooper/slipper and not eat meatloaf. Weird.
Thinking some biscuits, not ready to knead bread yet, sternum is sore yet.
-
I roasted a chicken made mashers and gravy from the drippings. Still another meal or two left over.
Been raining since early morning - local flooding
-
I'm eating a DiGiornos 3 meat calzone, they're pretty good for mass produced Italian food.
-
since we are testifying :)
I stopped at Firehouse and got one of their Italian sub fully involved/ as in Da works
-
Friday is diGorno nite here ;D ;D
I have yet to try Firehouse, the local one is always packed
Recently opened FREDDYs maybe similar to Culver?s if that is familiar to any of you. We enjoyed it.
-
Got both here, ain't tried either, decided quite a while back there is no reason to go out for burgers or samwhiches. if they are good they are to expensive and if they are cheap they ain't worth it, just make both at home. The exception is Rita has one of them POGO card things and one thing on it is Mr Goodsense, buy one 12" get one for free, we ran it out of punches garage saleing this summer. ;D Have to wait for the new one.
-
Haven't tried Culver's I thought it was just Ice Cream see its burgers too
we got the standard BKs & McD's ,,,Wendy's, Red Robin, 5 Guy's , Steak & Shake , Crystal, Hardies/ Carl Jr , Fuddruckers and Checkers even Dairy Queen
what we don't have is Whataburger In & Out and Jack in the Box....
if you can find a burger in Florida ,,,you are living under a rock
Guess I'll try Culver's best not leave them out :-\
anyone want to venture a guess at my favorite ? ;D
-
Have Culver's here, they're pretty good. Steak & Shake's not bad, but I don't care for their skinny fries. We can make better at home, but when we eat out, it's usually because we're out doing things, and not close to home.
-
Major2 I would guess 5 guys
Chrystal?s I think filed chapter 11- sort of like white castles. I thought Fuddruckers had also, apparently not.
We have whataburger- they are open 24 hours. Not that I couldn?t wait. It was handy when I would get called into work, late nites.
Not impressed with Red Robin.
Coffee is on... weather rain has slowed to a mist. And it?s cooled off again.

BINGO .... 5 Guys it is was Fuddruckers but they closed down and the building is a Pawn Shop now
Ditto on Red Robbin to kiddie orientated , when in Texas I'll do Whatabuger
Wendy's will do in pinch
Chrystal/White Castle is more of crave ...when I was kid we had a Florida base chain call Royal Castle 10 cent burger & 5 cent frosted Birch Beer ....
The Burgers were much the same little square bun square patty grilled to order w/ onions & a pickle chip....you could wolf down 6 in a sitting
and the birch beer (root beer) and frozen glass mug was plesent childhood memory... that Chrystal or White Castle can revive
Saddy I believe you are correct Chrystal may be kaput

I can remember Dad taking us to Wimpy's, -burgers for $0.12 ea. Later became a Henry's.

we don't buy Omaha Steaks either was given a gift pack once frozen solid in dry Ice ...terrible cuts thawed the remainder and grilled for the dog whom was not impressed either.
-
I have gifted boxes of Omaha Steaks to people and have not heard complaints.
May have been a "gift horse" type of situation, but I'm guessing they were able to wrestle the meat down.
In recent years I have noticed their quality has slid . . .

M2 I am a big fan of 5 guys- and their peanut oil fried, frys.
Glen I am sure I can make a pretty darn good burger at home. I don?t have to clean up the kitchen at the fore mentioned burger places- nor do I need to go shopping. Let?s don?t forget the curd fries and the shakes. So now I spent $25 at the store for all the ingredients plus gas. I?ll take the $8 platter with a concrete please.

Never tried 5 Guys, only one I know of is downtown and I'll starve first. ;D

Going on my first adventure in a long time that ain't a has to do. Going to the Nebraska State Historical Society for a noon lecture on the Solomon Butcher Collection, some lady professor from the Loony Versity. That is a awesome looking sandwich
This coming on Lent, here in the heart of Dixie- Giving up meat on Fridays is not a big thing. However all the fast food places that normally don?t carry fish, now do. Usually gone at end of March.
There is very little about living in Ohio that I miss- Friday perch or walleye first frys - perogies and good Hungarian foods.
I don?t regret moving though😃
-
I'm a little late to the party, But I'll take 5 Guys over most any other fast food burger, I got their fries once, were so many I couldn't finish them, The fact that they were very soggy with grease didn't help. I prefer my fries crispy to extra crispy.I like the free peanuts and refills as well.
-
Just checked, the guys have opened another place, in Gateway Mall, might as well be downtown, they must not want my business. Last time I went out there was Christmas of 2006 to get Christmas pictures of Lexie and Rowdy. The place that would do pets closed, ain't nothing there for me now.
Downtown is full of office people by day and college by night bar hopping, Gateway is full of Yuppies, neither place is desirable. ;)
-
I can respect that.... I avoid places such as that myself
The 5 Guys here is about 6 miles from the work 20 ...if'n' I want to go I need to take an few minutes early lunch to avoid the noonish rush crowd/traffic.
Otherwise, no worries.
I don't do the fries anymore anywhere in fact I abstain potatoes period.
In a pinch I might do Wendy's but avoid BK & Mickey D's & Red Rocket

I have been convinced in the last 2 weeks that things would get pretty much back to normal by summer, was not really sure till then.
Riley hit my leg last night when we were trying to clean it up and bandage it, right where they took the veins out. Felt like somebody stabbed me right in the funny bone.
That's when we called for help, waiting for her to come over and change the bandage.

Healing takes a lot longer as we get older. Healing the mind included.
There is so much around here that I would had fixed or repaired maintained, in the past. I can not hardly do any of these simple things today.
