The question will be "How old is that old LT?" Man you are turning things upside down. Sgts are supposed to to be old and wise, LTs are green and learning. Richard you will do an outstanding job! Stay as safe as you can. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Matt - True enough a WARNO isn't set in stone but most likely you're getting ready to move out out to a mobilization site, and mobilization isn't to far away I reckon. Ft Dix isn't the main USAR/USNG MP mobilization site anymore, I think that has moved down to Ft Bliss completely. I know due to OPSEC you can't say too much about where you're going and when exactly you'll be leaving. However when you get time drop us a line after you get to your mob site &/or fall in on your position in country and completed your LSR/RSR. Looking forward to seeing what your mission will be after you're on the ground and on the job for a bit. Hopefully your tour will be more exciting than the detention ops tours I did - here's hoping you get in with a more active MP role. If you end up working with Iraqi army in a trainer capacity keep your M9 loose in the holster pard...

And since you're a fellow officer I'll advise that you anticipate being the ultimate powerpoint ranger - LT, incoming doesn't excuse late slides for the nightly commander's BUB!

Jack,

Thanks for the advice.  I we have a CS mission.  That's all I really know at this point.  I will find out a lot more in a few days.  My orders will be cut on Monday.  I already have the plane reservations.  Since I am an individual augmentee, I not mobbing out of Bliss or Dix.  7 Days at the mob station and I am on the big bird.  I am going to get a Blackhawk holster for outside the wire and a shoulder holster for the FOB.

Sounds like a good way to go, with the holsters.  I carried my Glock 19 in an Uncle Mike's kydex holster, and either my AKMS or Sterling SMG when outside the wire.  We'll all be prayin' for you!

Matt - looks like the god Mars is smiling upon you already: getting out of the lengthy and mostly non-value-add of a full unit mobilization is the way to go. Well pard, as far as I'm concerned the worst part of the deal is already behind you. Things are starting out pretty good so far!

Looking forward to more updates down the road.

Keep your head down, powder dry, and eyes on target!!!  Remain vigilant inside and outside the wire!  God bless and prayers up for a safe return.
