Morning all.

Currently 12 degrees, and probably not getting much better.

On todays agenda, I hopefully will get an audience with the county clerk and treasurer to register our new trucks. The last three times I’ve gone they have been so full that  the receptionist (somewhere between friend and acquaintance to me) has suggested to just leave because even if I stayed in line until close, I wouldn’t get my stuff done.

Well, 41 and cloudy here today. Supposed to hit 50 but all bets are off. Gonna head to a pawn shop I was in Monday and see if they still have a pair of Cobra handheld CB radios left there. Just want them for emergency use in the vehicles when traveling. Coffee's on, help yourselves.

My covid test came back positive Have to quarantine for 5 days then wear a mask for 5 days after that.Which is odd since the CDC has already said that CLOTH masks don't work. fixed it.

Good luck and prayers for your recovery....

.... Which is odd since the CDC has already said that masks don't work.

I can find no reputable source where the CDC ever said that masks do not work, in fact only the opposite -
that proper N95 masks, correctly fitted and properly worn and correctly handled do in fact work.

Was 35° warming to 51° and breezy today. will drop to 28° by early Sunday...
that's the coolest it's been here since 2012.
I recall that freeze and saw little snowflakes lifting in the air late in the afternoon driving home.

I'm at the Museum today.
It's toss up if the nip in the air (but its bright & sunny as well) will drive up attendance,
the Rain & Gloom the last few days sure did.

Next week I receive an original WW 2 Liberty Ship lifeboat for display in our Navy/Merchant Marine section.

I don't think at this point there is any reliable source for information on Covid 19, politics has gotten to deeply involved to sort it out, I do what the Drs. I trust say and pretty much don't pay any attention to what I read anywhere on the net.   Their advice so far has kept me alive.

I forgot to put that it's Cloth masks that the CDC said don't work. The N-95 masks are impossible to find around here, Stores only have the KN-95 which are chinese knock offs that don't meet the standard of the N-95.

I forgot to put that it's Cloth masks that the CDC said don't work. The N-95 masks are impossible to find around here, Stores only have the KN-95 which are chinese knock offs that don't meet the standard of the N-95.

Ah, sorry for the confusion.

The trick is to find masks that use the unwoven "spun fiber" filteration material.
Korean made KN95 or KN 94 are good.

The molded N95 construction masks are actually very very good and fit well.

Any spun filter mask is better than cloth.

That and fit them so there is no gap around the edges. Construction masks work better for me in that regard.

Then correctly disinfecting the mask after  each use with 70% alcohol or 3% peroxide

And washing hands for 30 seconds with warm water and soap.
And disinfecting surfaces.
And not playing with the masks or touching your face, nose, mouth , eyes while out.
We keep disinfectant in the car, and disinfect before removing the mask, then disinfect the mask.

One must follow the protocol all the time one is out, every time.

It's not easy, most of us don't have it drilled into us like an operating theater nurse.

That does still leave the eyes unprotected, which in theory is a possible viral vector, but in practice does not seem to matter unless someone spews in your face.

By following the protocol strictly, Mrs marvel and I have not only avoided getting covid, but have not gotten colds or flu or any bug for the last two years!
Hope this helps

Or is at least entertaining...

Oh, also beware of strange cheap alcohol sanitizer, some had benzene in it (recalled) some was  methanol ( toxic to the liver) and open car windows if using alcohol sanitizers in the car. I also avoid bleach.

Peroxide is cheaper, safer, and not toxic.
Alcohol and bleach will kill even C-Diff Bacteria in less than a second..
It takes peroxide up to 3 seconds to kill C-Diff.
But virii die much quicker.

This, by the way from Dr. Mrs Marvel

Saw someone saying masks do not affect you O2 levels, yeah, if you don't have pulmonary/cardio problems, my body and O2 meter plus my cardio Dr say different.   Having had all the shots, the antibodies, Covid and pneumonia I would rather make my own choices, will probably never quit wearing in the Dr office but sick people tend to congregate there.

Evening all.

I am coming to you from the far away land of Seattle, Washington.  I’m here for a polygraph test, courtesy of the Department of Homeland Security. Anyway, it’s quite a place. My hotel room is on the 12th floor, and I’m nowhere near the tallest thing around. I also got very lost Inside the airport.
