Outstanding Mr. Niederlander Sir!
I had bought one of the S&S slings, but returned it because of it's low quality. The Turner Saddlery slings are nice, but pricey. I have an old one, but I fear that if a troop were to look at it too hard, it would fall to pieces!
I have been employing your method as applied to rapid bolt manipulation of the Krag rifle, and have found your method to be the most satisfactory for me, I just have to hold the fingers of the firing hand straighter than when woking the British Lee or Mauser inspired Springfield, so as to keep from striking the protruding magazine cover of the Krag.
Many thanks for all of the information that you have provided!
