OK know that I have you attention where can I get a nice pair of grips for a set of 1875 Uberti frontiers. I'm also looking for a place to buy material to make my own grips and knife handle.

These came from TipiKreeper at Western and Wildlife store. Good price Light weight and pretty easy to fit.

For natural material...stag, mastodon ivory etc...I'd start with Elen Hunting.

Poppa Kapoff,

I have worked with Big T (A cascity.com member) on grip projects several times. I have constantly found that his work far exceeds my expectations.

Although he primarily does knives, I have found his grip work is fantastic and far less than what one would pay to the 'big boys".

So if you have a project, I would send him an email and see if you could work it out beteen you ...

The gun in the pic is a 4th Model S&W in .32 S&W; but my normal guns are a pair of Navy Arms Schofields ... Plus I have a couple of ROAs that I shoot occasionally ...plus Pietta a Starr, 1858 Remington and an old gun-that never was, an Armi San Marcos '51 Colt in .44 Cal (that I use reenacting   ...as in my profile).

I used some of their grips on a Derringer I used to shoot in CAS side matches. Gunsmith polished it and did final fine fit for the grips. Loved that gun. The 32 mag barrels registered perfectly at seven yards. It was like shooting a single barrel gun. BUT those derringers are HEAVY>

Update on the VintageGunGrips.
I bought some and they are well made. No warping whatsoever. Sadly, they were too thick, so I sold them (Due to the checkering, they couldn't be "thinned down").

Be prepared to do a ton of work on these grips. I just bought a pair of stags for my 1875 Remmy and spent a good solid 8 hours to get them to the point I could live with. :(
