I found this on page 17 of my old McMillen Catalog (No. 77). Those are possibly numbers 81 or 70 and 71 or 72. You'd have to verify the size with them.

They're in Sunrise Beach, MO. Their phone as of 2008 was 573-374-7880.

As I look at your examples, the more I think you probably have the McMillen numbers 70 and 71 stamps.

I did a search and found that McMillen Tool Co. doesn't have any website. But they didn't 15 years ago, either. If you are able to make contact, let us know here.

I hope you are able to make contact with them. Bruce Johnson sells old tools that he can find. I have seen some McMillen stamps in his inventory, although I didn't see either of the ones you need when I checked. His inventory changes all the time.

If you can, post a photo of the original holster and certainly what you make for him.

Will,  he actually responded on Leatherworker.net giving the same numbers you suggested.  Another responded with a Craftool A102 that looks close to the smaller one.

Glad you have the information you need for this. Did Bruce have the stamps available?

Thanks. Let us know what you hear. I hope he has them for you.

I'll be away from the computer for a couple days but will respond when I am available.

Just heard from Bruce Johnson:

I checked and sorry but don't have either for sale or coming up for sale, just the 6 petal in a few sizes in my personal set. You could expect to pay $75-100 for them when they come up. I sold a few of the six petals at the Sheridan show for $90. These good old McMillens don't come up like they used to. The 6 petal stamp is a little more common than the dots stamp. They haven't made any stamps for several years with no plans to start stamps again. “

Looks like I’ll be coming up with an alternative to simulate it.

The smaller 7-spot stamp could be made from a bolt or round stock with a drill and a small flat file. The other one you will probably need to improvise. I look forward to seeing what you do use.

I found a couple Craftool stamps that come close.  I will make a mockup and post.

That's mighty nice looking. A little extra beveling around that stamp with a bit of shading around the center and it'll look very close to the original stamp. Good choice, there. What is that stamp you used? I like it.

The decorative line is done with an Osborne No. 17 embossing wheel. Those are still available. If you don't have an embossing wheel carriage and don't want to spend the amount for one, you can make one easily with a bolt through a piece of steel rod or similar thing.

Will,  I have the embossing wheel with the handle.  I picked it up when I got about $2500 in tools and stamps for $100.  So basically free!  thanks.
