Title: Uberti Owtlaw in 38/40?
Post by: King Medallion on January 30, 2020, 11:10:36 AM
I've never seen one, but has Uberti ever made a 75 in 38/40? I'd buy a couple in a hot minute if they did. Love my 2 44-40's, my main guns for CAS.

Never seen one.  Just buy a .357 model and hand it to a gunsmith with a wheelbarrow full of cash.  :)

20+ years ago, I heard of one being custom made, but do not think it was ever a production item.  As a fan of the .38-40, I think it would be really neat, too! ;D ;D ;D  My dream gun would be a Marlin 1894 Century Limited with a .38-40 barrel.

I don't believe Uberti ever did one in 38/40, cause if they did I would want a pair as well. 20 years ago I found a Uberti Cattleman with a 7 1/2 barrel in 38/40. Couldn't locate another then I discovered Taylors had a Uberti 7 1/2 barrel and cylinder in stock, so I had a friend install them on a 45 Colt Cattleman that I had. Nice pair of shooters. Almost got lucky about 10 years ago and found a pair of nickled 5 1/2 Colts in 38/40. I say almost lucky as they were just a couple of numbers apart from a matched pair, but oh well, they still came home.  Always on the lookout for anything 38/40.
