Rebuilt Colt...
« on: August 30, 2019, 11:22:34 PM »
New barrel, new hammer and new cylinder.  All parts I have been saving for just this sort of project.  Roy Fishpaw, Big Horn 2 piece grips came with the gun ;D  They sell for around $900 alone...no gun :o

Here are the numbers...

throats? .451 (yea!)
trigger 2.5# with just the addition of a lock washer
hammer has border and line checkering like a 1st gen (yes I had that in
the parts box too)
cylinder gap? an new record for me of .0015"
timing? now perfect

Before...1971 NRA Comm. that had been some what abused since 1971.  5.5" .45 Colt.  One of 200.

And after...

Thank you Gentlemen.  Best part was I got the gun with the grips off GB for $1550 delivered.  Figured at the get go I was $650 into the gun  ::)

2nd Gen?  $650?  No brainier!

Took a bit of effort and time today but finally got it done.  I think the profiles looks a lot better on a 2nd Gen gun than the 3rd Gen version does.
