whilst wasting my time on fleabay instead of doing chores, I discovered a vendor who claims to have
acquired a large stash of the "last of Colt's SAA Parts"

Thanks, they have lots of interesting stuff.  I ordered a set of hard rubber grips  (the non-Eagle type) for my 2nd gen NRA Centennial SAA that has some ugly wood grips on it.

well darn, the checkered rubber grips do not fit my 2nd Gen (NRA Centennial) .45.  The backstrap is a decent fit, but a the front strap is very proud of the grip.  Too bad, they are quite slender and feel good in my hand.

That seems to be an unfortunate truth, that the darn things are fitted to the individual gun....
