Last Of The Real Colt parts?
« on: September 23, 2018, 05:40:05 PM »
My Dear Netizens

no horse in the race, merely for your entiretainment and enlightenment

whilst wasting my time on fleabay instead of doing chores, I discovered a vendor who claims to have
acquired a large stash of the "last of Colt's SAA Parts"

i quote:
"NEW OLD STOCK. Raw Steel so you can blue, nickel, black oxide, paint, cerakote, cold blue, etc. however you'd like. ***We just bought a mixed lot of Colt parts that came from the auction where Colt sold off a bunch of stuff from their factory. MOST OF THEM ARE NEW OLD STOCK, BUT SOME ARE USED, SO PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS & DECIDE FOR YOURSELF BEFORE BIDDING. We ended up with a mixed bag that we have listed, so see our other auctions. We have several other slides, some different barrels, and miscellaneous parts that we will be listing over the next week, so be sure to check our other listings to see some of the amazing things we ended up with. It's incredible to get our hands on these few old gems - we just wish there was more!***” "

should you have an interest, he is selling gripframes here

Thanks, they have lots of interesting stuff.  I ordered a set of hard rubber grips  (the non-Eagle type) for my 2nd gen NRA Centennial SAA that has some ugly wood grips on it.

I've picked up more than a few parts from them already. So far all of it seems to be perfect and they're good folks to do business with.

well darn, the checkered rubber grips do not fit my 2nd Gen (NRA Centennial) .45.  The backstrap is a decent fit, but a the front strap is very proud of the grip.  Too bad, they are quite slender and feel good in my hand.

That seems to be an unfortunate truth, that the darn things are fitted to the individual gun....
